X is a Kickstarter game that more resembles the first 5 games. That is, tile based and purely turn based. I only really played 6, 7 and 8 (we do not speak of 9) so it did not appeal to me.
I hear for those who like that type of game it's pretty good.

Because the RTS ones wern't the originals. The original were first person dungeon crawlers starting back in the 1980's. Read here. These were the good ones, up until 8. X was decent but a bit on the annoying side if you didn't know how to properly build a party.

Wow BHTrellis188, we are almost exactly opposite in our views. =)
I guess it's because 8 was the first game I played.

M&M 8 WAS a good game. I meant that 8 was the last good one. 9 was just so bad. But, I still played all of them. First one I owned was 6 way back when the day I got my first windows pc on Win 95.

Aaah. That makes more sense to me ;)
I wanted 9 to be good so bad I re-installed it at least 5 times, each time with some new fan-made mod to make it bearable. Such a shame!

The original Might & Magic was also really, really hard! You could get into an encounter and all your characters could end up Eradicated! (the one encounter under Portsmith brings that to mind).
I preferred playing the C64 version over the PC version as the PC version used the PC speaker, and it was quite annoying to listen to.
I remember playing Might & Magic VI and I enjoyed it quite a bit. Unfortunately, the quest to become a Lich was glitched for me, and as far as I know, there was no way to fix it. I also loved playing Arcomage!! I wish I could find a copy of the standalone version of Arcomage, as I'd play that a ton!
Might & Magic IX started out well enough for me. Then, I got a bug that corrupted all my saves!! I think (but am not certain) it was caused by equipping the "Banana Sword" (or whatever it was called).

Also, if you are thinking of Heroes? With the castles and such?
This is not it. This is first person RPG. I thiiiiink the original Might & Magic games? And Heroes came later?

Those'd actually be TBS (Turn-Based Strategy) games, not RTS (Real-Time Strategy). :)
Other commonly confused gaming terms are SRPG and Co-op.
SRPG means Strategy RPG in most regions, but in Japan it means Simulation RPG, which is equivalent to TRPG (Tactical RPG) in other regions. Co-op means Team PvE (Multiplayer versus non-player challenges), while Team PvP (alternatively, Team Competitive) is the correct term for any game where mutliple teams of players play against each other.

Cheers for the opportunity as I played a lot of the earlier M&M games. Have a good weekend Christian! :)

I got uPlay keys for this game, and it's DLC, and there's no use them sitting around in my list of un-redeemed keys.
So, give it until Sunday at 16:00 my time (GMT+1) and I'll send the keys to whichever number post an RNG machine kicks up.
Sounds good? Just let me know you want the game then!
EDIT: There's an understandable confusion. This ended a while back, but the winners never responded.
