I'm doing a google doc for this event.... Maybe this is not needed but this data can be used elsewhere if anyone needs it... Also it could show what is needed for finishing/beating the game or any one wondering if the game can be played in this event and if can what is needed(100% achievements for example)..
work in progress google doc, also anyone interested can help me with this in some way. Will do about 20min daily updating, so in time it will be up to date with all the needed information.
Note: it doesn't have all the games but will add them later on. (it has most of them)
Also I will add any base game or gold pack etc.(when I remember). As by default you only need to finish base game, so doesn't matter what version you have as far as I understand? (monthly had Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands Chaotic Great Edition but if you have base game only, all good still?)
On the side note I think I'm going to manually add steamID and then do a script to get the correct name out of steam. Not sure if I can write a script about hltb but if anyone needs I can do other things also, like if the game has steam trading cards.

It could be interesting indeed, although with most games, there is an "Ending" achievement that is quite meaningful.

I'm also thinking of making a website like pagywosg but for this event, though it's just meant as learning project for me.(This just gives me incentive to make it) So if CJ will want to use it if and when I finish it great if not alright.. (same as google doc) If I manage to create it, will probably create a side event to this one for testing the site etc., where people will need to finish 1 game with at least 6h hltb within 1 week for a chance to win a game/s (obviously humble choice/monthly only and criteria might change, will make a post about it first to see if there's an interest...).

question regarding steam family share games since its out of beta(sorry if asked already), can we use steam family share games? Game is still played through steam and playtime/achievements are tracked(they do disappear from website after some time, but always show in client(so SS requirement prbly), or will personally owing it be required.

I asked with the previous family sharing system and the answer was negative, so I wouldn't hold my breath, sadly.

Hi, sorry for the delayed response but ChocolateVC answered for me: it is not allowed. It would give some an advantage over others.

These two months were heavy on Supermassive games. I can't fully recommend The Dark Pictures Anthology (it's fine, but it could be better), but The Quarry is actually pretty good.
Figment 2 was a bit of a disappointment if compared to the first one, maybe because it's more action-packed than puzzle-packed, but it is still a solid game, and the musical elements are as good as before (I'm in love with the song of Choir of Disregarded Opinions).
McPixel 3 was a blast, Sos Sosowski is a legend. I think playing the original McPixel before this one would enchant the experience.
What for Biomutant — it deserves a 'mixed' rating. It had so much potential, but it's awfully boring, so better steer clear of it. I didn't believe it, had to try it myself, and now I regret my decision to win it.

I haven't seen anyone play this for Monthly (apologies if someone has), and since Pathologic 3 is getting some hype: What will count for Pathologic Classic HD? Is one protagonist's scenario enough or all three?

Yeah, as mourinhos86 said. Can confirm that the event lasts until the next choice. Cj also mentions in the post that end date is the 5th of November. I myself also still need to finish one more game. Doable, maybe try to see if you have a short(er) game that you could add.

For example you could play one of the frog detective games. They I believe take under an hour to beat. Think you can play 1 or 2 for the event.
Edit: Checked for you and both frog detective 1 and Frogdetective 2 are okay for the event indeed. Previous event they were played and accepted.
Just examples though. Of course also plenty of other short games to pick one final one to play for the event for from.

Might want add a reply agin to Cj on the list of people saying done. Letting him know that you played a 6th game. Maybe link to post again. But either way a way for him to know you played a 6th game.
Glad you could finish it in time. If he approves he should sent you a friend req on steam and then an invite link to the giveaway. Gl in the giveaway.

*Descenders has the career mode with 4 regions each ending with a boss jump. The achievement "Made It" is for doing a boss jump in last region - Peaks. But there is also secret 5th region - Volcano, but it requires extra efforts to unlock. If I need to beat Volcano too, please let me know. But I'll probably just drop the game and try to beat something else 'cause I barely managed to beat Peaks.

And my thoughts about the games:
Descenders. tbh I didn't really like it. Too hard, I guess? I really hate the small number of lives. After 5 mistakes I had to start all over again from the beggining. So the best strategy is to drive slowly and carefully without any stunts or challenges. In the extreme bike simulator. It's kinda retard but the game punishes any other behaviour pretty quickly and harsh.
GRIP: Combat Racing. Meh. The game tries to be arcade and hardcore racing game at the same time and not really good in both. It has arcade combat but requires a lot of skill in racing. Also rubber banding is annoying af and the game constantly tries to punish you if you on 1st place. Go figure.
Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy. It was just awesome. I was surprised by how high-quality the story, presentation and direction are. The characters are awesome mix of MCU and comics and for once I was not irritated by the constant verbal diarrhea and it was even interesting to listen to them. Well, except for the last levels, when during the battle they repeated 3 dialogs in a cycle. The graphics and design of everything are also good. It was interesting to look at everything.
The combat is average, but it is ok. There are enough bugs but none game crashing. I was amused that one of the achievements popped up 15 times in a row for me.
It's a shame that the game came out after the Marvel Avengers and this greatly spoiled its presentation and it sold poorly.
The Forgotten City. Another awesome game. An adventure quest in a time loop. Short but concentrated.
Vampyr. Meh. It was mediocre. Bleak, sad, brown. But sometimes entertaining. I liked some side quest, the whole concept of characters' hints and the combat is ok. I really didn't like the lack of a fast travel and that there is only 1 autosave which constantly rewrite itself. So I had to use manual savescumming for doing all achievements in 1 playthrough.
Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair. It was ok platformer. But I liked 1st game more.

Btw are people able to reach the barter site? I am getting the message: "Did Not Connect: Potential Security Issue. Firefox detected a potential security threat and did not continue to barter.vg because this website requires a secure connection.".
I am on Firefox, but tried on Edge and Chrome as well and same thing. Maybe a license that expired? Just want to see if other people have the same thing.
Used the site plenty of times before to check games for the challenge and never had an issue before.

I thought for sure I had created a post in the thread. Getting old!
Just adding a few notes about the games I played in case anyone is interested. I'll start with the games I liked less to get them out of the way.
You Suck at Parking was... honestly a nightmare. I was so frustrated, I ended up literally rage-quitting and uninstalling at least 5 times and abandoned the game entirely for almost a month before deciding to give the last levels a go, and another and another and oh boy, what did I get myself into??
I imagine the game is more fun in multiplayer but I wouldn't know as I was not able to find a single multi player session no matter how long I queued. The single player campaign though is just torture. I thought the low completion rate on the campaign achievements was due to people getting it just for multiplayer and not getting into the solo levels but no, it's because the solo campaign levels are random and frustrating and so difficult at times, it's one of those games that make you wish the devs would upload a video of their gameplay just to see if they even tried to play their game at all or just are sadists.
Mediterranea Inferno was... I really don't know how to describe it. It was like reading a beautifully drawn graphic novel, written by someone with extreme psychological disorders while on drugs. I forced myself to finish it (I wish I hadn't as the end is extremely triggering) but I will not play it again, nor would I recommend it.
All in all 2 out of 6 is not a bad negative ratio so let's move on to the games I enjoyed.
The Cosmic Shake was pretty fun. A couple of levels were frustrating and some achievements didn't unlock properly (I realized as I was entering my data here that the ending achievement hadn't unlocked when I completed the game over a month ago and I had to do the last boss battle twice before it finally did unlock) but it was still a good 3D platformer with combat element although the level bosses were very uneven.
I just adored Honey I Joined a Cult! I ended up spending my entire September playing it. Well, mostly playing it as the game kinda runs on its own for about a third of the campaign, once you've set everything up and are waiting for numbers and events to align to launch an ending. It was a nice management game with a refreshing perspective and a lot of humor but the idling and waiting felt a little grindy. Not grindy enough that I didn't do three gameplays concurrently, mind you, but too grindy to 100% it and that's saying a lot since I had 3 campaigns running.
And you can't even really play it as a idler because the game pauses every in-game day for a daily recap so you have to click to continue.
Eldest Souls was a beautiful experience. It was challenging, yes but in a great way. You get killed. A lot. But you learn from it and once you have paid attention to the patterns and skills of the bosses, you can get through them and improve. It was also gorgeous pixel art, and had a very intriguing story. I wish the story had been more developed because the lore begged to be delved into more fully but it was already very interesting to explore.
Interestingly, I started a NG+ to see if I could complete a few sidequests that are mutually exclusive and ended up doing another play-through entirely.... and discovering a DLC that was kinda hidden in the game so well that I didn't even encounter it during my first play-through.
So if you play it, do try every door and pick every item or you'll miss out on 3 more bosses. I feel though that they were hoping to do more as the DLC feels like it's left open-ended.
Fashion Police Squad was just a hilarious classic shooter. I haven't had this much fun with an FPS in a while. They really committed to their premise and went at it from every angle. The game does suffer from an insane difficulty ramp-up about 2/3 through though and I had to change the difficulty to the easiest to finish the game. And even that was hard. But all in all, it was fun.

I put off the last game until the last day but here we go.
List of games:
achievements - "Sky Cup Champion"
2K Drive is a solid if relatively safe kart racer, all things considered. Having your vehicle transform into offroad or boat form as needed on the fly was a nice touch that made veering off course more forgiving, but it does make it weirder that there are occasionally weeds strewn about that massively slow you down. The humor was a bit 50/50 hits and misses, but it's always nice to hear Dave Fennoy's (Lee Everett in TWD) voice.
achievements - "Japan"
The builder/tower defense style management of Train Valley quickly gets hectic, but is mostly manageable with some help from guides. Not normally into tower defense but this is enough of a deviation to make it more interesting for me.
achievements - "Decapitate the Devourer"
I've stayed away from Warhammer tabletop due to laziness and frugality, but I feel Battlesector offers a pretty good approximation of it as long as the enemy programming and unit pathing cooperate.
achievements - "Hero"
It's a roguelike with decent depth, but I do wish there were more community resources for the game, as figuring builds out on my own could be daunting before finally lucking out on a won run.
achievements - "All spots taken"
YSAP's art and music are incredibly charming, which helps smooth over the annoyance of the game's later obstacles. Difficulty gets a bit too masochistic for my tastes, but I understand it's a fine line, and my instinct to go for perfectionism at first is a detriment to just beating the game if not controlled properly.
achievements - "No place like home"
Indie games have made significant strides in telling stories without direct exposition, although I do wonder if this game could have gotten even better at it by eliminating the small amount of expository text that does exist. I was mildly tired of the cleaning and sorting gameplay by the last one, but I am messy in real life, so that tracks. But I do have a newfound appreciation for the difficulty of sorting bras.

Hello and welcome to the madness!
The challenge is simple: Play and beat any 6 games, starting today, that have been featured in any given Humble Monthly/Choice bundle in two months.
The prize: 2x Black Myth: Wukong
Note: This means I'm giving away two copies of the game and will have 2 winners.
Game length does not matter and I'm not looking for 100% achievement runs. So long as you play and beat 6 games, I'm happy. You can go easy mode and play a bunch of 1h games or go crazy and play 6 +30h games. So long as they were in a monthly at a given point, it is all good.
Just post a comment with either screenshots/ achievements showing that you fulfilled the criteria and I'll add you on Steam and give you the link. Feel free to share your thoughts on the games you've played, but it is not required.
FAQ:
Why you doing this?
I hate money. That and I realized I've been subbed to the monthly for over eight years (yes it has been that long, I checked) and it occurred to me that I've barely touched the games I've gotten from it, let alone played them. Figured the same would be true for a few others, so I figured this is a good way to change that. A sensible person would probably unsub in this situation, but please refer to the beginning as to why that will not happen.
I've played the first X minutes of a game, can I pick it for the event?
No. You cannot have any play time or achievements prior to the start of the event. The only exception is idle time from farming Steam cards.
Can I play a MP only game?
No. It needs to have an "end" in order for me to count it as beaten, so it needs to have a campaign/story mode.
If a game was sold as a non-Steam copy in a bundle (origin/uplay/drm-free/etc), can I pick it as a choice if I own a Steam copy?
No. The reason being that those who own a Steam copy would have an extra option that would not be available to everyone who bought the same bundle. If the game was originally sold as a non-Steam copy, but Humble later provided steam keys to everyone who bought the bundle, then the game would be allowed.
Why six games?
The first few monthlies had 6/7 games in them so I went with that.
How long are you going to do this?
Until my credit card statements gives me nightmares.
This event "ends" on November 5th when the next next HB Choice releases, though the giveaway itself will end the next day. If you manage to finish game number six in between that time, feel free to post, but know that I cannot guarantee that I'll be able to give you the link in time.
