It makes me sad too, I gave it away about a year ago as a joke. Now I wish I had kept it and gotten to enjoy the terribleness

"so instead of buying expensive props to act as machinery, they just painted the floor black at some spots"
But was that cost cutting, or was that an artistic choice a-la Dogville ?

It's basically so infamously bad and broken that you really start questioning your life decissions, if you're seriously considering spending more than 5€ on it. Especially when there is a possibility that your rl friends (who know what RtH is) could find out about this purchase. IiviI

I remember seeing this a few years ago (thanks to Funhaus under their old name) and it was hilarious. Never expected it to get removed from the store though. There are a lot of broken, horrible games on steam but at least this one was kinda funny for it. Oh well.
Thanks for the gib ^^

Since I saw you playing it and it was only 3.50 € I had to get it myself ;) Guess I'll install it tomorrow and check how hilarious it is.

Yesterday I could not figure out what I wanted to play, and got the recommendation in the BAA chat to pick a game at complete random. The random game that ended up getting picked was "Ride to Hell: Retribution".
First we have the main menu. A nice looking one, and for the subtitles One PercenteOne perce is set to "on" by default. How considerate.
The game is quite clearly a play. One with a an alright budget at least, just look at the amount of smoke they used to obscure that the scenery was flat cardboard
If you've ever seen Queen of the Damned, you'll know by just looking at him that the main character is a vampire (please don't watch Queen of the Damned, it's not a good movie). This might be considered a spoiler by some, but it's just too obvious.
Sadly somewhere along the way, they realized that doing all this might have made them go over-budget, so instead of buying expensive props to act as machinery, they just painted the floor black at some spots, so that you could imagine there being machines there. They also played some rather realistic machine sound from the speakers.
Sadly the crew that was supposed to build the stage got high and forgot to put in the stairs that they promised, so our hero could never reach the second floor.
And thus ends my playthrough of Ride to Hell: Retribution. Not with a bang, but with some missing stairs. At least the floor was there.
