Sup guys, happens that after 5 months of not having a PC I finally got one. A 7-year-old mini laptop (it's something), I installed Windows XP (it had W8 and it was laggy as hell), now I want to know what games I can play in it. I have tried:

  • Mount & Blade (runs fine)
  • Fallout 2
  • GTA SA
  • Terraria (runs at 10fps, yay!)

So what games do you suggest me? You can post your favorite old school games too

Sorry for the annoying question, here's a poll AND a potato.

Nothing new with specs like that. Maybe Diablo 2, but you will get quite a bit of lag playing as a necromancer.
Planescape: Torment might work fine for you and is similar(play style) to Fallout 2.

Back when I had a PC with 1gb ram and no gpu when everyone else already had 16gb ram computers I mostly played old games. Not even Minecraft ran properly.
It had WinXP so I was able to play games like red faction, half-life etc. Stuff I had laying around.
Of course there are a lot of "pixel art" games that you will be able to play, but I don't know what you are looking for.

I feel for you. Try GOG.com. A lot of their games are of older vintage.
Heroes of Might and Magic III or Baldur's Gate come to mind. They ALWAYS list the required specs on their page.

+1. If you like older games, they're your place. They're optimized to run on the newer OS as well.

I love GOG, sadly i dont have money to buy their games so i have to pirate them

Funny, I thought that if you don't have the money for them you don't play them at all?

My wage is the equivalent of 3 USD every week. Keep in mind that i have to buy food, pay services, etc. Try to live and buy games with that amount of money.

I wish I could get games in GOG or Steam to support the people that made them

If I remember correctly, the last game I could afford to buy at launch was Mass Effect 3. The most recent AA game that I bought is Skyrim quite recently, when it was dirt cheap. Other then that I bought some cheap games from selling cards or on sales, won couple in giveaways (takes time, but you get them eventually). What else? I think there were some cheap games on Origin that I bought. But you know, the way I see it, until you can cough up the money to pay for the game - whatever the cost is - you just don't play them.

Different opinions pal, if at least companies would care to sell their games in my country the story would be different

I don't think it is a matter of opinion. It's a matter of circumstances you are in. If what you are saying is true, and those games are not avilable in your country, that makes things a bit different. When you just say that you don't have the money to buy them and have to pirate them it looks like a totally different situation.

What I'm saying is, when you say that you don't have money so you pirate games, you look like someone who does not care.
When you say that there are problems with game avilability in your country - then you look like someone in a difficult situation.

There's a difference.

Then, im both situations my friend.

Not having enough money is never a good reason to pirate games.

Imagine that you create something to sell, then people don't pay you but copy it from you illegally. Don't think you'd like that much.

That being said: what country do you live in and what job you got? am curious.

I live in Venezuela and I work managing documents and repairing computers at an office. Sometimes i have to weld something but thats included in the wage.

And no, i wouldnt like not to receive any money from my product but as i am putting myself in a dev's shoes, do the same thing with me, imagine that your money is barely enough to buy food and things like clothes and some 1st need things are a luxury (like milk, butter, toilet paper)

Thats why i try to stay legit as possible by getting on Steam all the games i pirate, its not an easy task.

Do you have games that drop cards? One thing I do (my income isnt as low as yours, but it can be pretty unstable) is idle games for cards, sell those, or sell drops from CSGO, then slowly save up my Steam wallet and grab things as they come on sale. Might help you a little if you dont already do that.

I just had a look at your game list, you can try:
Monaco
Isaac
Risk of Rain
I have no mouth and i must scream
Starbound?

Otherwise go there kongregate.com there's plenty of flash game that even the lowest of computers can handle. Some of them are fun, i used to play these everyday on the company's computer. And these were probably even shittier than yours atm.

I tried both Isaac games but i didnt put them in the list because none of them didnt even open. Same thing with Starbound. I will try I Have no Mouth and I Must Scream tho

Isaac is surprisingly demanding. You need a fairly beefy computer to play that without slowdowns.

from your games list: sorry if I'm suggesting stuff that you don't want to continue playing at this point of time:

SanctuaryRPG: Black Edition
FTL: Faster Than Light
Eets Munchies
Spelunky
Papers, Please
Brawlhalla

right now i'm just guessing some games that probably dont require a lot of computing power...i could be wrong though

Im downloading SanctuaryRPG. I tried FTL and Spelunky when it had W8 but they ran like crap, now that im using XP i will give them a try to see how they run, thanks!

FTL was going to be my suggestion, maybe One Finger Death Punch or Kingdom Rush, and then old stuff like Age of Empires 2, Starcraft 1, Escape from Monkey Island, Grim Fandango.

Also try finding flash/unity games, Kingdom Rush is online. I played one that was really good, I don't remember its name, I will edit this once I do.

What sort of game are you hoping for? You seem to enjoy FPSs, but that rarely goes well on a low end machine, particularly a laptop (touchpad aiming?)

That aside; my list might be something like:
SpaceChem
Dungeons of Dredmor
Dwarf Fortress

I tried DF a while ago, it was so complex that I didnt understand what i was doing, what i had to do and how to do it.

Watched many tutorial videos on Youtube. Still not knowing nothing

Asked for advices in some forums in the internet. All i got was memes.

No thanks, i think i will try DoD

And yeah I love FPSs but aiming with the touchpad is so painful

So im looking for games that doesnt require much aiming with the mouse (but shooters are still welcome for suggestion :D)

you can always buy some low cost 5$ mouse ;p even games that can be played with touchpad are usually better played with even the worst mouse ;p
