Team Fortress 2 Dota 2 Trading Cards question

Simply question my friend want to get trading cards beta. If he buy items for upgrade his TF2 and Dota2 can he get cards after he accept beta invitation ?

Steam cards group says "If you have made in-game purchases in Dota 2 or Team Fortress 2 prior to the Steam Trading Card Beta, or if you owned Team Fortress 2 prior to the Free to Play update, you will have 4 or 5 additional card drops available."

Is it mean you have to buy it before the trading card beta avaliable in the world or before you activate your beta invitation ?

It's prior to the Steam trading card beta update, so no, he can't get any cards.

I was able to get TF2 cards on an alt account I made a day after the Trading Cards Beta started. I didn't mean for it to happen, it was just supposed to be an idle account but it did lolz :D.

Yes, I upgraded mine and I got the cards, until that I thought it was the same as Dota 2

I think they changed it for tf2 so it works like dota2's card drops now
