Anyway, I don't think I've ever met anyone with an exceptionally high IQ that has actually felt the need to brag about it. Most (all?) of the people I've heard brag about their IQ have been in the"normal" range.

Nowhere did I make the claim or even imply that the people who brag about their IQ are my friends, or that they are not my friends. I just made a statement based on my own observations that I've made over the years. Generally speaking, the people I've encountered that brag about their IQ don't tend to perform exceptionally well on tasks that you would expect someone with a high IQ to perform well at.
IQ is like penis size, if someone feels the need to brag about theirs, it's generally because they feel insecure about it.
