Thank filter userscript

Thanks a lot for this useful script.

Update: new version 1.2 is out for Chrome and Firefox. Comments are no longer eligible for filtering if they contain links, and the wording in the "who said thanks" summary has been improved.

Nice, just tried it...and it's gone :)

While I personally don't want this (if nothing else, I rely on avatars as much as names, so if I'm trying to find people who've thanked, this would actually make it harder), I can understand why some do (especially loko) and hope it'll cut down on the amount of complaint threads. Requesting perma-sticky or added to this sticky.

Absolutely wonderful! This will be nice for those who don't like to see the pages upon pages of thanks and nice for those of us who do, since it should cut down on the complaints and if it doesn't all one has to do is link them to this.

Thank you for taking the time to do this.

2 suggsetions:

• Still show a "thank you" comment if that comment is also a link.
• Still show a "thank you" comment if it is made by the user, otherwise there is no way to edit a self-made "thank you" comment without disabling the script first.

This comment has the additional benefit of a bump for this excellent thread.

There's far too much hate and effort against the gratitude on the site, even if some of it is less sincere or spammy in appearance.

So this means people will stop making pointless threads about saying thank you? Yay, I'll get hours of my life back every week that otherwise would have been spent calling people inconsiderate and ungrateful.

it obviously cant get all "thank yous" however it does do a hell of a good job, appreciate the script
