for people that have sold cards is 50 cents a reasonable price for tf2 cards?

If you can see the future well enough to answer this question, you already retired to your own private island and don't waste any time on steamgifts... :)
Maybe in the future they sell for $0.01 like tf2 crates, maybe valve stops this program tomorrow and they are worth more than buds. Good luck! :)

It depends if the drops will reset. Some people say it will, others say there is a drop limit per game. If so, then I'd guess prices would go up. If not, there will be more drops and prices will go down or stay the same.
TL;DR I don't know.

They must reset, unless Valve goal is to make money off idiots creating 10 fake accounts just to buy games-giving-cards to be able to get enough cards to level badges up to level 5.
And seeing how Valve is trying to impress Gordon Gecko, that wouldn't be that surprising...

To make one badge at level 5, you need 10 people without resets. Beside few people who will get it now, in a month everyone will forget about it because it will be simply not-obtainable for most users. With all that fuzz about new feature, they either need to allow people getting it, or just scrap it now before it will turn into parody.
Well, unless Valve will open cards shop, taking massive hit into their PR image.

True. But AFAIK noone said there won't be resets outside of Steam Support, which everyone knows is "teh bezt", so they are covered here.
But like I said, without resets this will be "show other people you're rich and stupid to buy worthless shit" - not sure if that's the message Valve want to give. On the other hand, whole popularity of TF2 exists on that rule...

Ok, it wasn't there at first, thanks for update.
But I still think Valve is something better than greedy quack and they will want everyone to be part of this thing. With current system, they say "to have full level 5 badges and show you like some game - be privileged rich fan-boy and give us money".

I think there's no guarantee that prices will drop. That will depend on how many boosters are created for each badge crafted. Since you consume about 6 cards to craft a badge and the booster gives only 3, the number of available cards should diminish over time making them rare and consequently more expensive. Of course people will keep buying more games and getting more drops, but by doing so, these new buyers also become eligible for getting boosters and crafting badges, and once again, availability of cards diminishes. One may argue that at some point, many people will have reached the maximum level 5 of badges, so they wouldn't be interested on cards anymore and prices will drop, but I'm pretty sure Steam is aware of that, and to prevent that from happening, they already hinted on their plan to create more "series" of cards for each game (notice that all cards have "series 1" below them). Anyway, Steam has ways of controlling all of this, and they will act to keep prices as high as they can, since these will translate in money being spent back on Steam.

I can't get Dota 2 cards even though I have bought things from the Dota store before I got the beta. However I sold my dupes back when they were like a buck each, then re-spent the money to get level 2 in TF2 because I was bored lol.

guys
i got a beta access to but i dont know how this works can somebody tell me ?

Just play one of the games in their list. You will get half the cards needed to craft a badge for that game. Collect the rest by trading, craft the badge to increase your level and get extra features like extra slots in your friend list, background images, emotes in chat etc.

Sold all trading card related items (invites & cards) for around 8 dawrer. Sat on that dough for a few days then i bought Duke Nukem 3d: Megaton Edition on sale. And a Dota 2 treasure key, to become a premium user and get the card drops, not sure if that worked though. Then i resold the key for less than the DOTA store charges, still in the plus, as it was ALL profit originally. I have aboot 2.50 left, waiting for a good game to be on sale for around that price..

Crafted 3 sets, hoping for some decent coupons. I got a 50% coupon for Euro Truck Simulator, 50% for Dungeon Defenders and a powerful 25% for Godmode. So much proud, thank you Steam, you spoil me with all these prizes.

Jumped on the beta on the first day, sold the cards as soon as possible and I'm up 17,5€.
Might get a set using some of this cash once they are dirt cheap, I don't really feel like needing those badges though.

Personally I sold all that I got today and made 4.83€ :)
How did it go for you?
UPDATE: Made a total of 6.83 after getting all my available cards, spent 3.50 of it by buying one TF2 key and one TF2 robo key, spent 3 of it by getting a complete badge. HERE IS THE BEST PART: I traded the regular TF2 key for FARCRY 3 BLOOD DRAGON(!!!) :D
