I'm pissed off that they didn't release it in the UK store. Even if they plan to release it for the rest of the world at some point, why the hell would they release a pre order in America first? Why not just allow pre orders to be bought at the same time instead of raising all these eyebrows and creating all these threads on the internet.

I'm getting it for PS3 too, graphics aren't anything special anyways :/

I find myself saying "ThePirateBay has an answer to that" more often these days.

Move aside Google, you've got competition.

I could never bring myself to steal a game. It's just not the same :P

Ah but it's not stealing :P

What you're making is a copy, and if anything that's copyright infringement. Most countries, when not bought by their artists' unions, only ask for a fine. And that's only when it can be traced. Several european countries have never made laws against downloading stuff (Luxembourg, Sweden and Switzerland come to mind).

I don't know how it is in the UK, but you should check your law. Knowing one's rights should be a duty ^^ and if anything, say it's your religion :P

Copyright infringement is still illegal though. I prefer not to involve myself with anything illegal :) By definition I believe stealing is taking something without someone's permission. Yeah, I don't fancy ripping off developers for their hard work :P

When you put it simply, I can either pay money and receive the game, or I can download it and pay nothing. Shops would be out of business if there wasn't something illegal involved :D Believe me, there is no law that allows me to download video games without paying for them. Even if there was, I would honestly take the moral high ground and pay anyways ^^

Ok sorry, I still don't understand why they haven't released all the pre orders at the same time.

Ask your GAME or whatever that bullsheet retail shops you have. They like to block those things.

I have't set foot in a GAME shop in over a year. I don't plan to anytime soon :P I've got enough pre orders to keep me busy for now. Will wait for it's arrival on steam.

Hmm, seeing how EU have more people then states, AND 50 euro > 60$ there actually might be more money in Europe... But without releasing info about digital sales that's only guessing.

It is my understanding that UK retail outlets such as Game and HMV are saying that Steam is hurting their sales and they banded together and threatened game studios with pulling titles if they didn't get exclusive rights to sell them physically before Steam got to sell them digitally. This is why certain titles don't get released on Steam for a good month or two in the UK, then suddenly appear without warning.

I won't bow to the pressure though, since this began I've yelled some bloody awful things at my computer monitor... but I still haven't purchased retail :D

There is loads of info scattered about the internet, but I'm struggling to remember where I found the most comprehensive story, might have been on the Escapist, but this is going back some years now.
