Another day, another thread. :/
The higher the level, the lower the amount of entries for giveaways (Lower competition).
Other than that, the probability of you winning is a simple calculation, 1/number of entries x 100.
As an example, in a giveaway with 1000 entries, the probability of you winning would be 0.1%
That comes from 1/1000 x 100

As Push said, it's all luck. As of now I've entered 4,769. I've won 18 which is actually pretty good.
Just keep trying, stay away from ga's with more than 500 entrants. Lower entries means a better chance.
You're first visit from Space Cat will make it all worth it :)

Ah, thanks, guys. I was just feeling down, I guess I shall keep on trying and hopefully I will be able to report back soon with my first win!

You're welcome, also giving will increase your level then your chances improve as you climb the level ladder. Whitelist ga's are really good, just make some friends to get on their whitelists. :)

It is all about luck but there are some tricks to winning that might help.
1) Lvling up by making giveaways yourself: By giving away a single game and becoming lvl 1 you open yourself to a whole bunch of new giveaways that were closed to you before. However, it should be noted that making gibs inorder to enter more exclusive ones has diminishing returns, since the number of high lvl giveaways decrease dramatically per lvl, as seen here.
2) Lurking/reading the forums: Here you will find puzzles and invite only giveaways that users put up for various reasons. These are the ones with the best chances since they have a dramatically reduced amount of entrants and where some of the better giveaways (i.e. non-bundled) usually lie. Puzzles are not for everyone and vary in degree, but if you manage to solve them, you will have a good shot at winning a lot of games :D.
3) Joining groups: Peeps make groups for various reasons but they usually breakdown into two groups. 1) Promotional: These are the groups made in order to promote something, whether they be games that the group has reviewed, streamer, youtuber, etc. These are public in nature and anyone can join them. There main purpose is to gain as many members as possible and to make them aware of something and thus regularly make group only giveaways to either reward members for remaining in the group, or to make them aware of a certain game. 2)Closed groups: These come in many forms but they are usually sg-related in nature. Whether they be for a certain forum event the person is planning or a ratio based group, they are all centred around the community found in these forums. The entry requirements for these groups varies and thus usually have a very small number of members (~100) unless they are event related which again varies depending on the event.
4) Becoming a member of the community: There are loads of friendly peeps here and if you hang around long enough, peeps may whitelist you and thus give you access to certain giveaways. This is more of a bonus rather than something you should strive for since peeps can usually see through a fake nice guy pretty easily :P. Just stick around here long enough and you'll have fun :D.

Ah, I see :) Thank you! I wouldn't entirely call myself, "fake," though. I'm pretty sure we're all here for the same reason ;p But of course it's always fun to meet new people and be a part of a community! I've lost interest in most of the communities I used to be a part of, so perhaps it's time to get involved else where and feel inspired again! But I definitely agree, the people here are actually not all that bad, as opposed to people I've met through Steam, usually quite salty and rude. So, it's definitely a nice change, I must say!

Oh I didn't meant it like that. I didn't want to give the impression that you should try to get on whitelist but that they would happen organically the more you participate within the community.
Good luck :D

I was thinking of giving some games away, games I already own. I already know you're not allowed to give free keys away.. Like with Gleam and stuff, but yeah :) Hopefully me supporting everyone and doing my part will pay off! Thanks for the advice and thanks for being nice!

Nope. A buddy of mine has won quite a few giveaways and he has referred me to this site ;-;

i believe it comes down to luck aswell, i'm on this website for less than 4 months and i've already won nearly 70 gifts.
it does however help alot, since the higher level you are the lower amount of people can actually participate, i also highly advise being active in the discussions, alot of invite only giveaways have considerably less amount of participants, combine that with high level giveaway and you can end up in a 5 copies 9 participants giveaway.

So, I've entered about 300 giveaways and I haven't won anything, I was just wondering does it increase your risk at winning when you give games away, also? Or is there a formula to winning?
