Edit: I had a friend sign up and she entered her 1st GA just to see what happened on the page and won within 5 minutes.

If you mean level 0 Steam accounts entering this site and winning stuff they probably just got here by having free weekend games in their account to pass the 100$ limit.

edit: nvm if you mean ppl level 0 on Steam Gifts, then they can just win in private giveaways, there is tons on forums.

that's pure luck. According to the algorithm theories, you have always 50% chance. Every time. Even if 100000 people attend for a game, you still have 50% chance. You either win or not. Think this way.

I don't know about hacks on SG. I think is all about the " give and take" and do the math on the entry numbers.
Also some private nice groups is always better to join.
I personally registered 5 months ago and already won/give a few games.
