I have a complicated question here. Don't even know if this is the right forum, but correct me if I am wrong.

Problem is I found this question in the topic on reddit, and he got the answer: No, since you already own that game, your subscription to it should be "retail". That means it should still be in your game count.

All fine so far. But it so happened that I asked Steam to remove some games from my account a few years ago. I have now rethought that and wanted the game(s) back in my library. That is no problem either since they are free in some form, just to add them. But I do not get that particular game added to my total gamecount, which is what I actually is interested in. Not only having it in my library, but also add upp on the count of my library.
When i go to steam support to get it back in my account, I can see the recipe when I added it, but that doesn't help.
I am fully aware that all this is my own fuckup, but I just would hear if someone knew a workaround of some kind.

You can get back games you removed from your account the same way you had them removed in the first place. This should result in them having the same license as originally. Not sure if adding them based on their free2play license in the meantime might have messed up that option.

Also, games that have "profile features limited" don't give +1, no matter if retail or free2play.

Oh thanks, I knew about that. I removed almost all my games and had a real hard work getting them back. But that about getting the same license doesn't work that way. I can't even ask to get it back but have to go to the store page and add it there and then it get in my keys list as a new addition and no +1 for it.

This product is Free to Play on Steam.

You selected the issue: It's not in my library

But thanks for your effort.

Just to confirm: you tried restoring via support pages, but got redirected to their store pages? Then you probably only can ask support, but should remove the F2P bind you now added before that.

If the game count meant so much, why delete it in the first place? :P

On the other hand, I'm kinda ashamed of my backlog if I'm honest. LMAO!

I am an ambivalent person. Maybe on the verge of being bipolar. One day I want nothing - minimize, the next I WANT IT ALL!

If someone has a lot of games I can't view them without my browser freezing and almost crashing. That is something I guess :)

You can install Steamdb.info extension and among other useful things, it optimizes the load and display of large libraries. My browser also froze for too long with certain users, but now even +8k libraries appear in seconds.

SteamDB plugin https://steamdb.info/extension/ helps load large libraries. A large library when loading will show "SteamDB plugin is optimizing this page". It still takes a moment to load ofc.

If a game removed from Steam or disabled from purchase, both of them mean -1 to total game count. So it won't show up in your profile's game count anyway after that. If a game goes free to play after you bought, it won't be affected, unless you permanently delete it via Steam Support (which is the problem here). However your activation key is still stored for your account even after you delete a game and if you buy it again, the same key will be appointed to you. Unfortunately for you, they most likely won't bother since it's free to play and doesn't require keys anymore.

You may try your chances with Steam Support but it's thin since you approved the deletion before and the free to play thing of course.

This reminds me Dota 2 was +1 for me at some point but I liked to delete games. :)

Purchase disabled doesn't lead to losing profile featured. Delisted shouldn't either, but it has happened in the past (whatever Valve was on there). Banned on the contrary leads intentionally to losing them.

I might have mixing things but gotta admit it's kinda weird. I know these two games (Battlefield 2 and Test Drive Unlimited 2) were -1 to my all games count the day they were delisted (both don't have a store page since), old Skyrim is also delisted but still can be purchased and delisting didn't cause to lose from game count. Dawn of Discovery (Anno 1404) caused -1 but it still has a store page and purchase disabled. Banned games are straight away caused -1 though, that I'm 100% sure. These are all old games so maybe it doesn't happen nowadays.

Yes, it's weird. If it was only for banneds, it would make sense, because Valve cut business with those devs and don't want users to advertise with their games on profile. Delisted could make sense, if delisting was due to DMCA reasons, but back in the days games were usually delisted, not purchase disabled and retired like today, so removing profile features from delisted games also affect good ones.

The ones that don't have a store page anymore are problematic in API I think, maybe that's the reason they don't add up to game count. Weird enough you can still put them on your profile showcases, not sure that's valid for every one of them though.
