Point system clarification.

Love the site, hoping someone could answer this question for me. I read through the faq, but I was wondering if you get points for giveaways. Also, as a request feature, it would be nice to have a search in the forums.

I think a request feature in a way is in the form of the new wishlist sync, the whole gauging of interest of a game in itself is a bit of a request. If there WAS a request forum it would be extremely inefficent. As I am sure people would complain about this being free and to not complain if you are getting free stuff.

I think you may have misunderstood the OP (which is certainly understandable, that sentence is... creative). From what I can tell, he's trying to request a search function for the forums.

some additional clarification if you please: i got bumped 40 or so points the other day, presumably because i bit the bullet and entered a fake giveaway that one of the mods caught early. do we receive points refunds for all fakes or flakes? there's a couple shady characters in my entry history that are, no surprise, approaching the week mark with no response, and, well, i'm out of points. this is a selfish question.

if a fake giveaway is removed by mods before it ends, all entrants get their points back. however, if a fake giveaway is undetected, ends, and the gift is not transmitted, i'm not sure if you get points back.

I just marked a gift "Gift not received", which did not get me my points back.

Losing the possibility of having had a game, and losing chances to win a game isn't really too screwed, in my opinion. Sorry for your loss, though.
