Stormcloaks or Imperials
Imperials. Stormcloaks are assholes and Ulfric is a jackass.

I agree entirely, poor kitties and dark elves living in slums and as beggars, only decent living cat folk are the trade caravan's and they're not much to shake a stick at. Imperial all the way, least they treat people equally.

One of my new favorite channels. I've you're looking for me, I'll just be watching all of these videos all night.

That's hilarious. Reminds me of Brodual's Skyrim channel that always has someone dancing at the end of each video. :D

House Hlaalu, House Redoran, House Telvanni and The Sixth House is a much more interesting question.
Stormcloacks are racist.. and the imperials are opresors... theres nothing interesting on that :v

House Telvanni is the correct answer. they are in the middle of nowhere but you get to grow your own treehouse :)

3rd option: kill everyone and rule skyrim yourself

Imperials.
Stormcloaks caused a civil war just because they didn't want to be a part of the empire and instead wanted to rule by themselves, even tho the empire respected the jarls and the high king and was mostly letting the high king rule, while the high king was mostly letting jarls rule by themselves. Then comes Ulfric who want's to rule all of skyrim as high king and replaces any jarls that don't support him.
Obvious choice is obvious. Also look at the icon of TESV. Now look at the Stormcloaks emblem. Now look at Imperials emblem.

Well I went with Stormcloaks just because the elves annoyed me more than anyone else and vikings are awesome.

The game is crafted to convince you to side with the Imperials.
As part of the Imperial or Stormcloak quests your character is more than subtly encouraged to engage in quests for Balgruuf as a prerequisite: if you try and present the axe, Balgruuf tells you off until you find the Dragonstone and kill the dragon at the Western Watchtower. You basically have no choice but to become a friend and thane of Whiterun. And then you can be presented with the choice of which lord you want to betray: Balgruuf or Ulfric.
Consider that Skyrim posses an honor based culture.
No matter which, your Stormcloak character has no personal honor. For the rest of time, you will be remembered as the Dragonborn, yes. But also the man who betrayed his friend for personal gain. No amount of martial glory will ever cover that stain.
The only honorable choices are the Imperials, or neutrality.
And neutrality misses you out on seeing Ulfric's ghost in Sovngarde.
Bethsoft wants you to choose the Empire.

You start off by being wrongly accused by the empire and almost getting killed. The game literally sets you off hating the empire. If you run along the intro sequence and don't switch sides when you can, you might end up thinking that the Stormcloaks didn't want to help, but otherwise the whole setup of the game is for you to sympathize with the Nords. Where's the honour in bowing your head to an empire that has been defeated by the elves and is now just a puppet regime?

It's less a matter of the Empire being broken? They are effin' taking orders from the elf Gestapo! You might aim for the lesser evil here, but I really think you are wrong. People that are standing up for their own people rather than taking a good butt effin' from a foreign oppressor are the clear favourite in my book any time.

It's a brutal world, modern conceptions of the value of life--even ones own--are inapplicable. Fate is fate, the afterlife is taken as granted, no one who is living in such a world would have batted an eye.
The Empire is only a puppet regime from the Stormcloak perspective. From the Imperial perspective, they're readying to take back what is theirs if only Skyrim would stop trying to ensure a Thalmor victory by dividing what little strength still remains in the entire known world. Skyrim cannot stand alone: there's like 200 people populating it. The Bosmer alone, with their ridiculous reproduction rate, could probably cover the little slivers of land in Skyrim with an armed warrior every square meter and not even miss the manpower, and leave the Nords freezing to death (assuming Frostfall) in the mountains.
Because, really, Ulfric is a pawn of the Thalmor: it's the only logically consistent conclusion. But that's a different discussion entirely.

Wow... just wow. I bet the French are the reason that the IS rises its ugly head in the middle east now according to that conclusion?

You are telling me. Claims like 'only logically consistent conclusion' really put me on an edge you know.

Were you? I might have missed that in the heavily prejudiced and one-sided argumentation here...

I didn't get why you got involved in the first place anyway. If somebody tries to prove that a choice in video actually has a 'correct' answer I tend to point out that it's just that: a choice. Trying to argue about it is in my book ridiculous (yet both of you just did that). Dhampy went on to lecture me about 'modern conceptions of the value of life' which indeed have NOTHING to do with a fictional world and a made up choice that again means absolutely NOTHING. Again trying to prove his point Dhampy came up with another ridiculous conclusion out of thin air just to prove he's right. I made an allegory that his 'theory' about Ulfric's role is AS RIDICULOUS AS saying that the French would have any influence on the current situation in the middle east.
I'm also leaving this 'discussion' now.

Imperials tried to execute me, so I always side with the Stormcloaks on this one.

Lets put it like that... Side with stormcloaks = No support from the other countries sided with the empire = Thalmor launches an attack on skyrim = Skyrim is alone = You dead...
Side with Empire = Support from all of Tamriel which is part of the empire = Empire attack = You got a chance to win that war, with a whole legion and a dragonborn.
Side with the Thalmor = Bloody elf...

No matter which one you pick, the Thalmor are going to end up taking over Skyrim. They have enough military power behind them that the entire Empire backed down from a fight. With the war ended everywhere else, they can bring that entire military down on Skyrim as a province in rebellion and crush it. Hammerfell managed to stop them, but that was when their attention was divided, and it took years of bloody battle to reach that stalemate.
You could then take the view that the Stormcloaks are the better choice, because they're prepared to fight. They'll make the Thalmor earn every inch of territory in Skyrim. They will fight for their homeland to fight to the last Nord and make a damn fine show of it. The Aldmeri Dominion would need to commit a lot of resources to taking Skyrim. They'd still probably win, but they'd pay in blood. Best case, the region ends up devastated but free, like Hammerfell. Worst case, the region ends up devastated and the Thalmor still win.
Either way, though the warriors of Skyrim are all dead and Skyrim's thrown out of the Empire in order to maintain the treaty. On the other hand, the Imperial plan leaves Skyrim's people alive as part of a greater whole, able to rise up with the rest of the Empire when the Aldmeri Dominion gets complacent. Instead of bringing superior resources to crush every province one at a time, they're forced to spread thin across an entire continent and fight on every front at once. It's an uprising that they won't be prepared for, and one that's very likely to succeed
Basically, it's a choice between dying for a slim hope of freedom or picking your battles and living to fight another day. I went Imperial to minimize the bloodshed, but both options are legitimate.

Get the Civil War Overhaul mod first. Then, the matter will be a bit more objective rather than subjective.
