Which is the best quote ever for when you're playing the "pants game" (A rather immature game where you replace one word of a movie quote with "pants")
"I find your lack of pants disturbing"
Tomb Raider's "Your father begged for his life before he died"->"Your father begged for his pants before he died" is also up there.

So good:)
What did you think of CGI Tarkin in Rogue One? I thought they did a very convincing job, but maybe I had nostalgia-goggles on since everyone else I've talked to has opinions varying from "It was awesome" to "Peter Cushing is rolling over in his grave!"

I didn't like it. Not because it wasn't well done, it was. But it just... pulled me out of the movie, idk...

Well I much preferred it to the CGI that was added to the original movies.
I really loved the original Star Wars and for me part of what I enjoyed about Rogue One was it's links to the original movie that I liked so much and how much it felt like a great addition to that story - the inclusion of Tarkin was part of that. And I'm a big Peter Cushing fan and I've read a lot of intervioews and articles about him and I doubt it is something that would have caused him to 'roll in his grave'. He was surprisingly enthusiastic about a lot of novel projects and ideas.
But I love old horror movies and I've seen so many that would have been absolute trash if it wasn't for the dignity, professionalism, enthusiasm and talent that Cushing brought to the table amidst rubber monsters, wonky continuity and monotone bimbos. On at least a certain level it was sad that a CGI Tarkin only served to make me miss the qualities that could never be replicated by special effects all the more.

That's a really good, insightful answer. I still remember when, as a kid, my mom told me someone from Star Wars had died and I read the paper to find out it was Peter Cushing. One of my dearest friends at the time was also a tremendous Star Wars fan(this was back in '94 when being a SW fan as a youngster was sort of weird and almost unheard of) so I called him to share the sad news. We started watching the Hammer Horror films then and I began to appreciate him anew.

Yeah dude, i couldnt believe a my brother when he told me last month that episode 4 came out on '77. its amazing how it holds up for an "old" sci-fi movie

Which goes to show-- good sci-fi isn't all about special effects, especially in terms of "holding up." Look at 2001: A Space Odyssey, it's still a masterpiece in the modern world (released in 1968).

And the original "Alien" is from 1979, two years after Star Wars ANH.

There are some awesome documentaries about how they did all the models, explosions, etc. A lot of the ships and vehicles were put together from preexisting model kits like aircraft carriers or WW2 tanks and fighters but of course most of them were built from scratch since they were wholly unique. Phil Tippet, John Dykstra, these were names I worshiped almost as much as Han Solo, Darth Vader, and so forth.
