i bought a game and doesnt work

Hi, today i bought gta vice city, to remember my chillhood.. Download, install and launch the game without a problem... BUT the mouse sensivity its a shit.. i configure in the game settings but only affect the x axis, and th y axis goes crazy...

I serch on google and the only thing that i found its to CRACK THE GAME... REALLY? so.. what a hell i bought this if im going to crack it..

This is not legal, and i dont know if steam can ban my account or something like that for doing this...
Is there a solution to this problem, o my only way is to apply that crack..

There should be another solution. It's probably just that the crack fixes the issue by editing some files.
And since you have paid for the game, I'd say cracking it isn't such a big deal, although I agree that this issue should have been fixed by the developers, in the original version of the game.

It depends, in Germany you are allowed to use the crack (§69d (1) UrhG) :)

Do people genuinely not know the difference between Terms Of service and the Law? So often I hear people saying its illegal and I sigh a little. I can imagine it now,

Guy 1 in prison "What are you in here for?"
Guy 2 in prison "Altering files to play Vice City"

i said that because if i want to crack the game.. i just simple download it via internet and save 2 bucks. If i pay for it, why i have to download cracks that may jeopardizes the safety of my pc.?

Only if you're incredibly stupid. Agreed, you shouldn't have to get a crack, but if it'll work then so be it.

Copyright circumvention is punishable by law (in certain countries) and if that is the crack he is referring to, then yeah.

Ubisoft's own recommended fix for one of their broken DRM games a while back was to tell people to download a crack for it.

There seem to be plenty of threads about Vice City's faulty mouse support, with a variety of solutions that worked at least for some people. Disabling visual themes in windows works for some. It also sounds like Vice City and San Andreas both have issues with multi-core CPUs, and disabling all but one core for the game can fix problems.

Unfortunately, Steam is not like GOG. Steam doesn't make sure older games run properly on newer systems.
