"Vintage/Blue shaded" Steam gifts?

So, it turns out that some (or one) steam gift has magically turned Vintage (From the blue item rarity seen in Team Fortress 2)
It seems so far to only happen to Holiday Sale 2014 Auction Won games/gifts, but not all auction games seem to transform, I myself have a gift I won from the auction, but mine is just like every other gift.
However, my bestest friend in the whole world has such a "Vintage" gift.

Has anyone seen anything like this?

EDIT: it seems the Vintage Gift is now a normal Bad Rats gift again.

EDIT 2: It seems it's not a rare occurance, happens often when you gift a game and store it in inventory.

Lol, as I said, I do not own the "Vintage" steam gift, I am just looking to see if anyone here has seem something like it, or know what is going on :)

It's also a first for me, saw it earlier this morning and havnt heard anyone talk about "suddently transforming vintage steam gifts"

Which got me curious :D

It is, it just doesn't show to external users, like I can see the Holiday Sale 2014 tag on my "The Slaughtering Grounds" gift, but others can't.

Seen that among the recent changes:

  • fixed gift inventory order (mixed up randomly 1-2 days ago)
  • schedule-able gifting > allows you to send gifts on a later date to someone
  • sent gifts get market blue ... so you see them easier + have the steam ID linked in the username

^ if you have gifts that are blue for no reason its most prob a bug

Maybe the blue border is to indicate that it is not tradeable like the others.

The real question is, why do I have so many inventory gifts?

And I checked my only Auction game; not blue.
