It is 2 years old, Its a console exclusive free to play third person Escape From Tarkov from Bohemia basicaly, makers of DayZ and Arma. It was exclusive to the Xbox console but now that appears to chance, a little. It is sort of battle royalish in concept but not entirely. You and 13 other players or so, in solos or duos, enter a big map, you can choose to take with you things to help you survive, weapons, ammo, meds, the goal is to loot for more of the same and materials and other things, you can spend premium currency to improve loot in various ways. You have to escape the map before something in it kills you, think it was radiation or something, game is set in sweeden or something, 1970s or something, cant remember precisely, post appocolpyse (nothing new for bohemia). You have a hideout where your scavenged materials can be used to improve your hideout, just like recently Escape From Tarkov, to provide you with benefits as you loot materials form the instance, match based sessions. And thats pretty much it. Looks like the bastards still not gonna bring it over to pc for some reason, it definetly cannot be microsoft paid exclusivity now.

This isnt technicaly a battle royale but in a way it is, but youre right, these things will just keep coming untill your bones have turned to dust and even then they will keep coming.

More like, there will be a thousand BR games and two or three people roaming the empty servers :D
People are getting fed up with battle royales, those who like the genre already have their favourites and the rest have little to no chance to succeed. Not complaining though, not a fan of the genre myself.
