No, the right anology would be:
Going into a bank,
unnanounced,
checking all the security,
probing all of it and seeing if it's possible to turn things on and off
Then after you're finished leave all the cameras and security guards scrambled all over the place
then leaving without showing how you did it
really rude but yeah it's illegal and all that so it's a bit of a Robin Hood paradox for me sometime

Steam's being attacked by a bunch of guys who want to prove vulnerabilities in servers. The online version of going to a bank and shooting up the place to prove that you can still do that. What good samaritans. Spread the word though.
