I'll give a try. It's just 1 buck for a whole year.

id rather they just fucking fix desura
Edit: for those daft enough to even consider this "service": https://www.trustpilot.com/review/oneplay.com - even their replies are piss poor.

In the previous thread, I think it said you had to download the program to view them. But, based on what the website itself lists as some popular games when I click the VIP button, it looks like there are some LEGO games.
I'm also curious about this.

Looks like a good deal, imagine if you could get a whole year of netflix for one buck, it'd be great.
For me it's a terrible offer however, my library is already massive enough to last me many years so I'd probably never touch this thing before the subscription expires.

Tried this a year or so ago. Didn't work for me even though i was charged 1$. Support replied with "everything's ok on our end go fuck yourself" scripted message that kinda charming.
1$ is ofc not much but my backlog is strong and winter (sale) is coming.

Thought it was worth a shot for a buck and I tried it yesterday but I'm having the problem you describe. I will contact support but not getting my hopes up after your experience :/ Guess I could just claim a dispute with PP if they won't help me out.

I did try a few games and even finished one (hidden object style adventure). As has been said, the client is bad, and I often had to exit and start it again just for my account to be recognised. It's hard to find games you want. I'd say it's certainly worth it for someone who doesn't own a lot of games, but I think that even for me it was worth $1. I got more out of it than a lot of game purchases.

I decided to try it out for a buck but I'm having trouble getting it to work. First the payment was super slow to be approved, then it took me a while to find out that what you bought was not the actual subscription but a 100% off voucher for their one year plan that you have to "reveal" in your "game library" and that you then need to enter as a gift code to buy the actual subscription :/ With that done, I got the client and downloaded Firewatch and was prompted to log in (again) to "activate" it but that failed. The client is also hot garbage, I can't choose where it will download and install my games and it's a UX disaster, switching between in-client and external web pages willy-nilly. Urgh, the whole thing is a mess. Wrote support about the VIP rental thing not working and I'm waiting to see what they have to say but if I can't get it to work I'm just going to dispute it with Paypal and get a refund.

I downloaded firewatch too and I couldn't activate it, I wrote support about that (yesterday evening) and this morning they fixed whatever was wrong.
Yep, their client and their website is... wow... terrible, but hey less than 1€ for a few expensive wishlisted games, that's acceptable I guess

Thanks for the heads up!
I'll most likely pick it up for Firewatch, the LEGO games, and their immense catalog of Hidden Object Games.
Their client is a pain in the ass and sometimes you have to try downloading a game numerous times before it registers. Also, I have multiple computers and it seems that whenever the IP of the device changes, it recognizes it as a new machine. I wouldn't complain, but you can only activate a game on up to 3 machines. It's honestly a terrible platform at the moment, but it's $1 and I am a sucker for HOGs.

I’ve had to re download and re install every time ! It’s a real pain especially with huge, game like Lego superheroes, and, especially since my internet plan is limited DL monthly.
I’ve chatted to support about it and they will follow thru with working on it.

That's pretty terrible. Honestly, I hate the service because it doesn't function properly, some key features don't even work, the limited activations and redownloading of games, and the terrible UI and menus. I also had some really bad crash issues with a few of their titles, but I do not recall which ones.
BUT it's only $1 for a whole year, so screw it, why not? I can't imagine why anyone would even think about paying their full price for the yearly subscription.

Dispute it with Paypal and force a refund that way. It's what I'm going to do if they don't bother getting my subscription to even work I'm still waiting for a non-boilerplate reply from their useless "support", see above.

update us if you can I'm curious to know how they'll handle that

I got a full refund from Paypal:
"We've completed our investigation of your unauthorized payment claim. We've determined that you signed up for a billing agreement and there has been no unauthorized access of your PayPal account.
We've now cancelled this agreement for you and we've refunded the payment this time as a goodwill gesture".

Glad you got your money back, thanks for the update ^^

"-Games can only be installed on C: (or the same directory where the client is installed, not quite sure)" You can always create a symbolic link for programs that do that crap. It's usually big companies too that should have competent programmers but somehow don't.

The offer is back
EDIT: The promo ended. Now it's 3 months for $1
Here is the topic from last year with all the info.
I'd say it is worth it, as long as you remember to cancel the subscription on time.
If I remember correctly, after activating the subscription, you can cancel the payment pre-authorisation on your Paypal page (if you paid using Paypal, of course) so that you don't get charged accidentally.
List of interesting stuff:
-Firewatch
-The Long Dark
-Furi
-Aragami
-Amnesia
-The Vanishing of Ethan Carter
-Through the Woods
-Stasis
-Ziggurat
-S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games
-Most of Daedalic games
-Many Microïds/Anuman point & click (some not on Steam)
-Other point & click games
-Plenty of Hidden Object Games
-Some LEGO games
-Lots of games for kids
FULL LIST OF GAMES
Pros:
-Just $1...
-Many games to try, and time more than enough to finish them.
Cons:
-Their client sucks (and hasn't been updated for a long time)
-Their website also sucks (bad gateway errors when browsing the games)
-The payment in their website is slow and may not be handled correctly. (Personally, mine took more than one day to be processed using Paypal)
-Games can only be installed on C: (or the same directory where the client is installed, not quite sure)
-They bought Desura a while ago, but hasn't been much progress on that matter, although Desura seems to be sort of working.
