I can't really help you with your specific gamepad, but Steam Controller, Xbox 360 Controller, and DualShock 4 vibration works on LinuxMint 18.2/18.3. With that in mind, I'd probably start by seeing if your controller is fully supported under an Ubuntu derivative, since they are the best supported for gaming and peripherals.
Oh, and have a WL for being a Linux gamer!

Thank you for the suggestion, but the MSI gamepad is fairly new, they introduced it at the end of last year and there's no info on the net. It should work, but does not. I'll try to ask on some Linux forums.
And thanks for the WL, you're now on mine (not doing much GA's lately, sorry).

Hi all! Linux gaming guru needed!
Xpad module is not an option, worked in just few games, didn't even tried, to be honest.
Desperate, I got my first gamepad (I'm 40 years old, LOL) 14 days ago (Thrustmaster Gamepad GP XID Pro - no vibrations) and decided yesterday to buy one with vibrations. And it does not work :'-(
Any ideas, please?
Edit: I'm running Funtoo Linux. The gamepad is recognized as Xbox 360 controller.
Edit1: Solved it. Unlike the Thrustmaster, the MSI GC20 works better with xpad (xboxdrv=works, xpad=works with rumble).
