Hi guys.

I'm a fan of puzzle giveaways (even though I'm fairly terrible at them) so I've decided to get rid of some of my extra keys via puzzles. (CV of 10 required)

Here's the trick: I've only got 2 to giveaway, but 5 puzzles...

These really are for those of you who enjoy puzzles more than winning...

And, to make things fun, the puzzle questions are themed to the things I like!!

Without further ado, here they are:

Video Games!
Music!!
TV!!
Movies!!
Girls!!

EDIT: It looks like the last puzzle is proving tricky...I'll be adding some hints in about 12 hours time, but they really won't be that helpful! Your best option is really to search for the answers, do a bit of research, and you'll get them!

EDIT 2: So, with just 3 hours remaining on one of the giveaways, I have decided to add small hints to all the puzzles!

And feel free to bump and/or comment - I'm really enjoying hearing the feedback!

Hmmm, those ones seem to be the ones that are most easily answered.

If it looks like people are really struggling, I may add hints (but only with an hour to go - don't want to punish the guys who soldiered on and got them without hints).

Is that OK that after solving "Videogames" and following te link I get "No such file or directory" page?

It looks like the puzzle site that hosted it went down - I've tried re-upping it but there is definitely an issue.

I've updated the itstoohard puzzle with a new link.

Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

Stuck on question 2 for movies and 3 for TV series. The Little Imp hint has got me stumped and I thought I knew the TV show but apparently not... Fun, though!

You're on the right track, but remember I need the name of a movie...

As for Q3 TV - you'll kick yourself when you get it :)

This is fun.

Got everything on the videogame quiz except Q10.

That one could be tricky if you only really played it when it first came out.

Solved movies and music quiz so far, but I guess I give up on the others...

Edit: Finally solved the video games one as well.

Okay, I didn't give up (I just couldn't ^^) and almost solved the girls quiz, but I'm stuck on Q10 :/

Edit: Solved the girls quiz as well! But I think the TV quiz has too many unknown shows in it (at least for me).

The second puzzle of movies hint: "Little Imp winds up in a coffin", its sadistic to find!!! But it was pretty fun to look for. :-) Thanks for the puzzles friend, and as a reward now I have a bunch of good movies to watch. Happy gaming to all!!! :-)

I see a fault with one of the answers to the music puzzle. I don't know how to say what that fault is in a forum comment without making the puzzle easier as a side effect.

Is this to do with accepting cover artists but not original?

I responded to your post but I suspect it was deleted so I'll give the answer again:

The music quizzes generally have answers that are easier to find, so the questions tend to sometimes have a bit of a bruteforce element to them - usually only a three or four at most - as the puzzles only accept one input.

Some of the answers do require a bit more digging.

Yes, that's what it was about. Maybe fault was the wrong word to use. It's your puzzle and I don't mean to dictate how you should run it. I personally, and it seems mistakenly, interpreted the text at the top of the puzzle to say that the answers should be for the artist(s) who first recorded the song. I already knew of both recordings, original and cover. They're both pretty good in my opinion. The album with the cover was, shall I say, unexpected? It just took a few failed inputs before I tried something I figured would be incorrect, but it worked. So I guess the fault was mine.

I did delete my first comment. I feared it was too close to being an unauthorized hint.

Yea, was a bit hinty :).

I tried to be a bit less vague with the added hint by saying that it applied only to a single song: of course, people may see the hint applying to a different question.

One interpretation might be that this hint implies that a certain artist may have been called something different at different points in their career. Again, this may apply to different questions, depending on your view of what constitutes "career", "name" or "artist".

I appreciate the feedback :D
