That is a TON of games. o.o

Taken from Byuu.org

So let's look at our fees for a $20000 eBay sale.

eBay: $54 for first $1000 + 2% of remaining balance. That is $434.

Paypal: 2.9% of total sale price. That is $597. Yes, $597 for what a bank does for free, and a money order will do for $1.00

IRS: 28% for anything I could not prove I paid for. That ranges from $2800 to $5600. And even better, if the set doesn't sell before 2013, this rate goes up even more!

Shipping: freight shipping is ridiculously expensive on something of this size. It ranges from $500 (two states over) to $1200 (to Canada.)

Grand total of fees: $4331 to $7831.

Now, that's just a 20k sale..Imagine if he actually sold it.

For that price, I'm sure he's including the house, the wife, and maybe even his car.

That is a lot indeed. Why would anyone want to completely get rid of their gamer's past?? Maybe it's the lack of money or room (that amount of stuff takes up a huge space.)

Sadly ebay rapes you with fees and such. And he'll have to pay taxes and things on top of that. He'll still make a lot (assuming it sells) but fees are going to take a very noticeable chunk.

Yep: "I spent the last two months of my life taking pictures and making lists, working about eight hours a day just in order to make an inventory and to figure out what I have. Even now after all the time spent checking things I’m not sure to have included all in the lists..."

Who would spend half a million on a bunch of old games? ._.
And for those that would, who would spend half a million more on games they probably already collected?

That awkward moment when you realize all you'll have to show your children is a crappy client with some digital games in it, which are never truly yours to begin with.
