The site isn't an authorized seller, but yeah, they often have good prices.

What's an authorized seller?

Sites that have contract agreements with publishes to sell their games and usually source the keys they sell directly from them. There is a simple way to check if a site is authorized - if you cannot type in the link for it in a Steam chat, then Steam banned it as a not authorized seller. I doubt Steam banned all non-authorized links, but it's a start.

P.S. By any means it doesn't meant that the site will sell you a bad key, but there is a chance for that still. I know a lot of people use cdkeys.com without issues though, so perhaps it's good to go.

Wow, first time I've heard of that. Thanks for letting me know... here's a whole reddit about cdkeys.com... seems to be a lot of nice things said about it. https://www.reddit.com/r/pcgaming/comments/30zq02/is_cdkeyscom_legit/

Well, as a friend of mine says to defend them, they are often featured in IGN deals, so they are not exactly totally shady. From the grey sites they are probably one of the most legit ones, so it's up to you if you want to pay them money - prices are indeed tempting.

Though the list is not complete, for example getgamesgo is missing.

If in doubt, only the publisher of that specific game can tell you, if he authroized a specific website to resell their game.

And the 101 on how to spot a shady online shop:
A shady online shop does not have an impressum.

Seems you did not read the wiki article. An impressum requires you to disclose a legal person's name and adress. someone you can actually hold accountable (in a legal context).

And even if they claim to be part of Omnyex - good luck on court in Dubai (if actually someone is working there and it's not just a post-office box and the mail gets forwarded to some guy in Timbuktu).

But then again, not egen GMG does have an impressum that would fit those requierments. In the end it's up to you if you trust a site with your money and your private information.

By "authorized" and "unauthorized" sellers many times people mean to call them trustworthy or untrustworthy and these tags are just to confuse people."Authorized seller" doesn't always mean trustworthy, neither does "unauthorized seller". People will often tell you that unauthorized sellers or re-sellers are not to be trusted and yet the same people would offer you to trade games with them, in other words double standards because even traders purchased the game from somewhere and while you as a person who buys from them may trust them that their source is trustworthy / authorized seller, there is no guarantee and you are doing business with them at your own risk. Don't get me wrong though, personally I don't try to take side here, simply giving my view on this matter, people often say you are buying from this store at your own risk because it's not an authorized seller, but in the same time, you are actually buying at your own risk also from other sources like traders and even stores officially tagged as "authorized" seller, there is always risk that something will go wrong. To put an example, let's not forget Amazon which is by the way listed in one site as an authorized seller and yet many people complained about horrible and unsatisfying service.

So am I gonna get in trouble for posting this thread? Damn, I hope not.

No, so far noone has gotten into trouble for posting good deals (as long as the person does not make use of ref links).

MrFuturehope sums it up pretty well. In the end it's your choice where you want to buy. Some sources are just more trustworthy and and some sources might (sometimes) result in a key-revoked-after-a-few-days.

Why would you get in trouble for posting this? It's sharing an information which might be found publicly on the internet through usual means, you are not revealing secret schematics how to build a bomb.

So, did anyone actually buy the game through this deal?

Not really a deal since this the avg price in the grey market. Buy at you own risk though.

Me. I had no problem so far. My first time learning about "grey markets" and key-resellers, and authorized sellers.
