We don't need new levels, it took me forever to hit 10.
Besides, new levels means no 2d6-2 for giveaways.
Comment has been collapsed.
No I can't, that won't cover lower than L2. 2d6-2 has a range of 0 - 10.

Couple of questions related to support on SteamTrades.

User Reputation for All Steam Users
To help SteamTrades continue to grow as a leader in Steam user reputation, our site now allows reputation to be written for every individual with a Steam account. To leave a review for a user, simply visit our homepage and search for a Steam user using their Steam ID, Steam vanity name, or Steam profile URL. Once forwarded to their SteamTrades profile, you'll see an input box at the bottom of their profile allowing you to leave a review regarding your trading experience together.
What stops someone from making a bot net to +rep
Comment has been collapsed.
It never said you don't need an account to leave a rep. But this can be used for a user without an account here so people checking here still find reps.
Comment has been collapsed.
Yeah, no.
our site now allows reputation to be written for every individual with a Steam account
Doesn't say that anyone can write, just that anyone can get reps. People can already browse this site without an account, they have no permissions for posting. That isn't changing.

What Delta is saying is that you will still need to be registered on steamgifts to give someone feedback here, you will, however, be able to leave rep for people who aren't registered, due to the new way in which steamtrades profiles will work.
So if, for example, someone scams you, but they are not registered here, you will still be able to give them negative feedback and other people will be able to see it.

Wow who is this guy thinks he is? He must be new?? How dare he opens a thread without cat gifs and hearts?!1!1 repel!
Comment has been collapsed.
I do hope you implemented a proper search function. Trying to find 'Solstice' when it was bundled kept bringing up threads with 'The Red Solstice' ;_;
On the fence about the voting and rep for non-users. The rest looks alright but I need to see it first.
Comment has been collapsed.
The most common scams though are impersonators and if peeps are not willing to check that, I doubt rep for non-users will help much.
Comment has been collapsed.
now you can paste their profile link
You assume to much from a casual trader :P. If someone just wants to buy a AAA game for cheap and doesn't do trading often, I doubt they will think to do that. They will just see someone of the same avatar/name having a lot of rep on st and go in blind.
It may help make things easier, but I doubt it will help a whole lot of peeps. The old system just needed peoples to click on the link below the fucking profile picture to see they were getting scammed and most don't even bother with that.
This isn't going to be a system like Steamrep, where every report is reviewed first, but an open system where anyone can say anything they like without issue. That is my major concern here.
Comment has been collapsed.
I see your point and I agree, however that is still just fueling Cj's point at the same time. People who fall victim to scams tend to only go off the avatar and name combined which were easily fake-able. Removing the username will actually just make it less work for scammers to impersonate other people.
But if I'm understanding the full extent of the changes, the moment that gets noticed on hopefully what is the first impersonation attempt the new changes will allow that person to be "tagged with public notes" for everyone to see basically?
Comment has been collapsed.
I see. So not really anything to prevent it if people don't backpedal back to steamtrades and check the users profile out manually for themselves. Sadly that's the case most of the time, but at least this will allow the reviewing for those that do actually pay attention and know how to trade properly.
maybe these changes might allow for a enhanced steam update to link those reviews to users via the extension ^^ for super easy verification

Wish they still updated the Firefox version, no links for me.
Comment has been collapsed.
Well ****
, I can't use it, and I no longer have the old version. Using Steam Inventory Helper for Firefox requires an older version of Firefox because of that whole must be signed bullshit. Using this requires a current version. Updated the addon wiping the version I could use.
REALLY wish I could get SIH signed to solve this ****
ing problem.
Comment has been collapsed.
I'm on Chrome and not Firefox, so apologies if you have already tried this but maybe the alternative fork (with none of the CSGOFast adware crap) solves your problem?
Comment has been collapsed.
or there is the release history for enhanced steam
Comment has been collapsed.
Oh useful, an up to date version for Firefox, wasn't aware they were covering more than Chrome.
Comment has been collapsed.
Fantastic, now shit is even more broken. Updated to 49, didn't work. I no longer have either addon. Fine, time to go back to 42 when shit worked. Nope, Firefox has now broken half my addons and won't even let me install compatible versions. For some reason, installing previous versions from their site doesn't work any more, you can only install the current version.
So ****
ing grand. Why do they have to wreck shit with their 'updates'? My browser is ****
ing terrible now, without many of the features I bloody want.

Out of curiosity; will there be dedicated ST support or will the ST tickets be handled, like they are done now, by SG support?
Comment has been collapsed.
So that means that ST will be basically on it's own, running mainly as an automated service, with no human help other than code tweaks that cg makes?
Comment has been collapsed.
ST support
Do you happen to know if ST support will be a new and/or separate group of people, different from the people doing SG support? And by different, I mean different human beings, not just the same human beings wearing different hats. :-)

You can't teach every dumb trader to take proper precautions. At least the reply system would allow the user to respond, and hopefully get them to remove the neg rep once they realize it was an impersonator.
Comment has been collapsed.
Which is why it's probably going to be a separate server from SG.
Comment has been collapsed.
Ehm, were there any "we need a trade faq" TICKETS ever? o.O
Comment has been collapsed.
I think the new site will be fully automated, with no moderation or support, other than cg fixing bugs, tweaking code, and adding features.

Great to hear about the improved user information, I hope there's also some text encouraging users to compare the information to the Steam user they are considering trading with. Hopefully this will mean people start doing that and avoid the still too common impersonation scams.

Wonder how many downvotes will be needed for an auto-deletion of false/similar sort feedback comment.
P.S. Moving to "Last>>" page option is gone?
Comment has been collapsed.
The last page option is still there for me (at least on all threads I visited) except this thread.
I wonder if it is due to the large page count?
Comment has been collapsed.
Yup, large page count means calculating the last button has a lot of server strain.
Comment has been collapsed.
I guess that could be the case, I was thinking more in terms of thread pages but it does depend on where we look I suppose
Edit: Random bit of information is that there are currently 90 908 pages for the Archive also I believe the last page can be calculated in one way or another by the number of entries in the archive and the number of entries per page.
If you think about it there is always the count of the number of total entries and the ones currently shown on the page but anyways that's just what I think it's not that big of a deal if you ask me (although on threads I wouldn't mind it)
Comment has been collapsed.
Yep, that would be an even simpler solution. And even if there isn't a discussion page limit, I don't think any thread would reach, let's say, 999999999 pages, so that could be the number.

•Last button will appear for results with 100 pages or less, instead of the previous 50 pages or less.

It is a great system to detect scamming alt accounts, for example, users with a clean/main account registered in Steamgifts and several alts to scam. Unless they use a VPN with the alts it will be easy to detect that kind of scammers and relate them with their main account.
Thank you

it should have a for example +32 -0( 10 ) meaning that the +32 its the positive rep the -0 the negative real, and the ( 10 ) the -rep that sometime had, letting you check if someone already has a negative and was voted to be removed to see if someone has evidence beforehand and the sme guy with multiple accounts manage to get a posite vote to the negative rep be removed.
Comment has been collapsed.
Awesome updates, let's just hope, it's tweaked enough not to let people mass negative vote others

We previously had two sites, then we had one. How long before they get merged again?
Comment has been collapsed.
i know, lol. that made me laugh when i saw they were separating again, but this time it seems to be a real separation or rather a metaphorical divorce. the login & database being completely split up from the sounds of it. so i doubt they would change and merge that together in the future. before when the domain was separate, the databases were one and the same still.
Comment has been collapsed.
Indeed. Could change a SteamGifts forum link to SteamTrades and it would open that topic. :P

Hi SG, we're rolling out some updates to our trade section in the next 24 hours. These changes are mostly geared towards the separation of trades to SteamTrades.com, and improving on the feedback system. No major changes to the core of the trading system are happening in this particular update and the site will still maintain the familiar discussion based format. However, like most users, I'd like to see improvements in that area in the near future. Below is the upcoming announcement to be listed on SteamTrades.com, highlighting some of the more noteworthy changes.
Replies to Negative Reviews
If a user has left a negative review on your profile, SteamTrades now allows you to write a public reply to their review. This way you can better inform users visiting your profile about why that review exists, and at the same time it provides you with an opportunity to share additional details the user might have excluded from their review. Below a negative review on your profile you'll see a Reply button, which you can click to add your reply. Please note, replies are only available for negative reviews.
Negative Review Voting
To help improve the quality of negative reviews and to help remove negative reviews that do not meet our standards, we added a voting page, where users can vote on negative reviews from others in the community. Using the guidelines listed, users can vote on whether a negative review should be allowed, or whether it should be removed from our site. Reviews will be automatically removed if decided on by the community.
User Profiles and Safety Check
User profiles now contain a safety check. This data is updated hourly, and helps you to be aware of any Steam infractions a user may have against their account (such as VAC or game bans). As well, user profiles show when a user registered on Steam, when they were last logged into Steam, their Steam level, and their game count (if their Steam account is public). Combined with our user reviews, this data can help you better determine a user's overall reputation before trading.
Design and Interface
Our entire site has been redesigned and recoded with a wide variety of improvements. The changes allows for quicker replies, and overall faster load times. Our database is now separate from our sister site, SteamGifts. Users with previous trades or reputation have been automatically moved to our new site. However, with separate databases, this will mean usernames on SteamTrades may differ from those on SteamGifts, and suspensions on one site do not affect usage on the other. For that reason, profiles on SteamTrades link to Steam IDs, rather than usernames to help avoid confusion.
