I've checked for something like that before and it doesn't seem like anyone does it. but if done right it would be great. as long as it was the people who do the really great videos rather than some of that other crap you see on there.

It would be great if Valve got behind it. Like the rumoured Half Life or Portal film

That would be extremely long and tedious work, depending on the length of the movie and its quality.

Seeing 15 min TF2 short took them 14 months to make I can't see it ever working with current Valve structure...

Usually, making an animated movie takes a big group of people.. And it seems like only 7 persons were working on the End of the Line short video, so.. thinking that you need time to write the script and then doing the animations, i think it's ok...

They could make a kickstarter for it to gauge interest and serve as seeding funds, and you can bet that they would claim at least a clean million on it. Some people would pay the high bonus tiers just for the exclusive hats they'd stack up! I know I'd be sorely tempted to throw money at it. :s

I'm reminded of "A Law Abiding Engineer"... although this was done before Source Film Maker was released.
