I wonder how many people who don't own the game are entering for the dlc.

yeah, if they check the forums, they'll probably know that clicking on the picture will eventually send them to the game page to see the details if it has one and ignorance can't really be used to excused one of doing things that they shouldn't

I did do that. I have the GOTY of 40k, but could not see if there is any DLC involved with it, so I guess I don't have any DLC after all.

You have to be a wee bit dull not to notice though...

If I see a game I've never heard of before (or, indeed, something that sounds like it might not be the base game) I'll always check out the Steam page for more info and to see whether I'll like it or not before deciding whether to enter... From the Steam Store entry, it's normally pretty obvious whether an item is a full game or DLC.

Same, I always check the store page for any DLC giveaway. Also, if I've never heard of the game I'll go check it out before entering to make sure I'd actually want to win it.

Most people don't care. You see this giveaway? I going to say at the very least, 300 out of 350 entrants do not own Anno 2070

what if some people think that you can get the game buy just having the dlc.

Very nice. It's been questioned already whether people enter without knowing that these are DLC, but I hope people who do own the base game actually know what these are.

The first pack is purely cosmetic DLC, and only comes into effect in the multi-player head to head or free for all game modes. They make your units look considerably more badass than what is normally included in the base game, but do not effect the balance of the core gameplay in any way.

The second pack includes an extra hero for the multi-player only Last Stand co-op mode which pits you and two others in a survival match against waves of AI. The Tau Commander is an extremely powerful and versatile hero, and in the right hands he can be absolutely deadly. I managed to solo with the Tau Commander up to round 15 in the colosseum map after my two team mates dropped out (the game does not adjust balance for this), he's that good . The extra wargear for the other heroes is also very interesting, and allows for mixing up your tactics once you level up. That said, this second DLC pack is only good for said online-only Last Stand mode, it does not effect the single-player campaigns or the main multi-player game in any way, so one would hope that people consider this before entering. Whoever wins this, I hope they'll have a blast with Last Stand mode. Most of my 80+ hours playtime in Retribution were spent there - it's fun, fast, action-packed, requires tactical thinking and skill, and is addictive as hell.
