I had 24,98$ gifted (14,99 + 9,99) and I gave a game worth 14,99$ and it went from 24,98$ to 30$ ...

After that I gave another game worth 12,99$ and it's still counting 30,00$ ...

I had 5 more games here that I thought I would give away but until this bug is fixed I won't be doing it.

List of bundle games in case you have issues with the search function.

Perhaps you should read the FAQs.

Games from bundles only add up to $30 until you start giving away non-bundle games, then you get 20%.

It's actually $20 isn't it?

Odd. On my account it's only $20.

$25 I wrote a ticket and asked recently :)

$25 is counted at normal values, then 20% of what you have spent will effect what the rest gains you. Total, $30 unless you bought other games.

It's not bug. If you giveaway non-bundle games, you can jump over a wall named $30.

Sigh, will these threads never end?

I suggest you to do 2 things before opening a thread or going in to SG group chat to ask.

  1. Read the FAQ.

  2. Use the search button to find for previous similar threads. There are plenty around that has the same 'problem' as you.

Cheers.

The only bug is that you are cheap and only seen to care about contributor status.

I'm starting to think that any new topic that contains the number 30 should just redirect to the FAQ when the submit button is pressed...

This.

But what if someone had their 30th birthday and wanted to make a thread announcing it?? No birthday giveaways from 30-year-old people anymore... °o°

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Easy, just add to the FAQ: "If your 30 years old, no one cares or needs to hear about it!"

What if someone makes a giveaway for 30 Fortixes and he can't say how many?

He will need to do 31 Foxtix giveaways instead.

Permalink

Exactly. That, and they can prevent you from making a giveaway that is numbered for exactly 30

I for one would welcome short (EG 1 to 6 hour) suspensions for people who ask questions that are answered by the FAQ.

Though I do think the FAQ link needs to be more prominent. Maybe a 50-point font link in the header of every page.

I think the FAQ should be made compulsory to scroll through when registering. And then have a comprehension test

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

I've suggested a pre-registration test before :|

It's a good idea in my mind - you could even have a simple 1 question test every couple of months to keep people on their toes.

I'm asking because I can't find link to it in FAQ (and if it really isn't there then people after reading the rules still wouldn't know about the bundle rule)

Until you mentioned it, I didn't know it was there. Someone should finally add it to the main FAQ.

It'd be nice is this question, which is asked frequently, was actually added to the FAQ. Or heck maybe even mentioned in the "New Gifter's Guide to Gifting" instead of being buried halfway down a page full of links.

Minimum suspension is 1 day, and I will never punish curiosity. It's the first step toward learning and there's quite enough ignorance out there already.

Can we then somehow encourage logic, critical thinking, common sense and self-reliance then?

When someone sees a topic like this so you get excited at the chance to bash someone, or are you trying to help someone to make the community a better place? If these topic just piss you off you don't have to read them let alone post in them.

I found a bug as well. It seems that you are gifting only for self-gain.

I don't think this is an inherent feature of gifting.

Permalink

yes it is, even entirely altruistic people feel good when they gift, thus they are getting self gain out of it

The OP asked a question and the responses in majority have been pretty pathetic, so the OP gave away bundled games, somebody out there gets a gift on the goodwill of the OP that paid nothing for it. Are people really going to sit back and complain because perhaps the OP would have gotten a sense of accomplishment out of seeing their contributions rise? Regardless the OP paid something for that bundle and was kind enough to give games away to many people who I am sure don't contribute for varying reasons. Frankly it is rather ungracious.

Nobody forced you to respond to this post, everybody has to learn somewhere and the FAQ isn't actually the easiest to spot, when I first joined I got my answers from a ticket because I wasn't sure that SG had an FAQ it was only later by chance I stumbled onto it.

As so many said before, the FAQ and look for Sticky threads. That means they stay at the top of the chaos below it ; D I understand the issues with bundle giveaways-though look at it like this: someone will get the game who wants it instead of the person who is stuck with it. I believe that counts for something. But seriously, give away some games purchased from Steam. It helps the site and makes everyone happy. Now y'all hold hands and sing campfire songs. I know that at least some of you need warm fuzzies.

Honestly, if the "I don't get contributor value for bundle keys, so I won't give anymore" thing is an issue.... well I hope that suspension is nice and permanent.

EDIT: IN celebration of this rule, I have a bundle key I am gouing to put up and expect NO VALUE AT ALL. Because, that's like, how it works yo.
