You buy a game from a company with employees who need salaries and you decide to give everything to charity?
You have a warped sense of proportion.

Wow nice, you should create a product and give it away for free.

The idea behind this was to give to charity first and foremost. Then it became warped into being a glorified store. What the heck do you think HUMBLE means? It was meant to raise for charity, first and foremost, when it launched. Getting a small cut, at the discretion of the donator was just a perk and another way to show appreciation. Devs agree to this and expect it. At least they used to.
YOU, fellow, are the one with a warped sense.

yeah. "I isn't giving my money to dying kids or something like that" is terrible grammar. if you're going to grammar nazi do it right, its embarrassing to have your grammar corrected while correcting grammar. I think it was actually more correct with ain't. what kind of grammar hitler youth are you? like cubscouts level or what(an actual grammar nazi would know better)?

"I think it was actually more correct with ain't."
Well, it is actually one hundred percent correct by using the contraction "ain't", since it means "am not". It also sounds weird as heck when you try to say "I is not going to".
Skylark is just messing up at grammar at the moment.

"Wasn't" doesn't fit the context of this sentence...
Comment has been collapsed.
wasn't is wrong too. it reads better than your last try but changes the meaning. its like correcting "lets have a dustup" with "hamburger"
and aint is far more of a word than most of the others that got added to the dictionary recently(well a year ago) which you would be forced to defend. Its only kept out of websters by suborn elitism at this point.
tell me mancave is more of a word than ain't. ain't at least fills a space a word was actually needed for. sexting is a stupid word. f-bomb, teachable moment, bucket list, flexitarian, shovel-ready? ect.
and then the ones that aren't even words so much as sentence fragments like toxic loan, energy drink,(must we also define green car?), ect.
ain't has staying power and a unique definition, most of those are slang or stupid fad phrases. may as well add crunk, man-tits, tweet, badonkadonk and frogurt, juggalo(deadhead is in there),[insert word here]gate, maybe throw in "Swaportunity" from that one yogurt commercial while you're at it. Anything before aint. Ain't in a dictionary would just make us look stupid. cough"shovel-ready flexitarian mancave"cough
maybe if you redid the sentence instead of swapping out aint you could get "Well I'm not giving my money to dying kids or something like that." try that one. reread what you're correcting before you fix it more broken.

Humble set the rules and Double Fine obviously agreed to them, so what's the problem with giving it to charity?
Comment has been collapsed.
what? the game is from 2009. if 4 years ago means to u old as fuck then i dont want to imagine how you could call dos games...

I consider those fossils. Brutal Legend is, like all single player games, aged quicker than other games. Replay value is what a game is worth. Supply and demand also takes place. Fact is, there is a lot of great single player games out there, and Brutal Legend isn't on the very top of people's priority list. 4 years of time has a LOT of good single player games, so I do not think this game has been making that big of a profit since charity times. Besides, Brutal Legend is serving a bigger purpose now. It is making money for charity, and that is what humble bundle is for. They wouldn't make it an option to give all money to charity if they didn't even slightly encourage it.

yeah, but when you tie a product to it its never going to be just about the charity. People are always going to ask about the merits of that particular model blender and what else is at that pricepoint before they buy a pink one for breastcancer.
When its all about the charity you'd just donate directly and not only get to pick which one instead of humble choosing for you but you can list it on your taxes, don't think you can do that with bundles
besides the bundles mean lots of things to different people, some see it as the bargin bins, some see it as being about the charity, while others instead put the sliders all the way to devs and see it as a way of sending money to that company company fanboy loyalty thing, and others see it as a "gotta collect em all" sort of thing.

If you are just getting Brutal Legend, it will probably go cheaper elsewhere. Especially after being bundled. It will likely hit $5, during sales, soon.
If you want anything else, then it is worth it. It is a decent collection for $8. I wouldn't let charity factor in. Make your own decision. You don't owe loyalty to them. It is your money.

The OP is obviously concerned about the charity judging by the fact he never mentioned it once.
I'm curious though, do you actually feel the urge to post the same thing every time I mention bundle prices?
Comment has been collapsed.
You asked a question, I replied. If you don't want a response use a period. Also, op is clearly concerned about getting the lowest price possible judging by the fact that he never mentioned it once.

I'm well aware that I asked a question, but you have already voiced your opinion to me in another thread so I don't see the reason to do it again. Unless of course you weren't answering my question for my benefit, but for the OP's.
The title of the thread clearly states "Is Brutal Legend worth the BTA?" which to me is asking if Brutal Legend is worth paying the extra for BTA, yet you think he isn't concerned about the price?

I have no problem supporting developers, but if I wanted to donate to charity I'd prefer to have the choice where my money goes. I personally don't really agree with how Child's Play spends their money and although EFF seems like a good cause, there are many others I'd prefer to support.
I wonder how many of the people in this thread who are promoting donating to these charities have asked their accountant if they can claim their Humble Bundle purchases as charitable donations come tax time. ;)
Comment has been collapsed.
I can respect that point, but I just think it would be best if OP asked if the game is worth playing. And if it is he should ask himself if the BTA is really so much to ask for it :).
The accountant thing is actually a valid question, if you "overpay" it a lot ;)

Depends on what $8 is worth to you. It's a short game, unless you do the collectables. And there's a lot of time-padding driving around to make it seem longer than it actually is. It's also really easy.
The hard rock setting is its main draw. So, if experiencing that setting is worth $8 to you, then it'll be worth it. Otherwise, wait for an individual sale.

i heard from friends that played it on console.. first when it came out they should it was amazing .. but now looking back on it, it wasnt worth the hype.
I'm personally passing. Bought Non-Bta last week

well the end does feel kinda tacked on, like there was supposed to be an act 3 and instead they just skipped to the bossfight* but other than that it seemed good to me. what made it seem unfinished?
*possible spoilers, don't read(part 1 fighting the human puppet governor and starting your rebellion. part 2 fighting an opposing human splinter faction so you can have a unified front against the evil empire(which you don't stand a chance of beating otherwise and only have a slim chance best scenario), part 3 should be that war with the demon overloads but that doesn't happen and instead consists of a single battle that felt more like an extension of the final battle of part 2, after which your rebellion instantly wins, having crushed the demon empire forever somehow).

Easter has been and gone in this part of the world. I take it you're rocking a different calendar?

Look at the playlist for the game...
Now ask yourself if driving around a brütally historic metal landscape listening to all of those songs and occasionally killing things sounds like it might be fun.
If your answer is "yeah, probably", then yes, it's worth it. Completely. (And Costume Quest is a nice bonus.)
If your answer is "nah, not really", then wait for a cheaper price.
I think my favorite song while playing ended up being Lita Ford's song written specifically with the game in mind. (warning: funky 80s metal cackle right at the beginning.)

definitely worth it. Best buy it with the T-shirt so u can brag about doing your part for charity.

The RTS mechanics were the things I hated, lol (I just dont like RTS, it has nothing to do with the game). Beside that I really enjoyed the game but those RTS parts did ruin a lot of my experience :(
I was aware of the RTS parts before buying/playing but yeh, everything else is just so awesome so I had to play it :p
ontopic: totally worth it. Don't expect better graphics than console since it's pretty much a straight port(excluding AA). Also no idea how the controls are with mouse and keyboard, I just played with my x360 controller.

Well you should've bought t earlier. Maybe you didn't got the money though. If you bought non BTA you would've got the prototypes which is a nice extra. I dont think BTA (brutal legend) is going decrease in value. It already was 6.00-6.50. You should've bought it earlier.

Is this game worth it? Only game I don't have already out of the whole lot is Costume Quest and I really could care less about the prototypes that were added.
Would appreciate input from those who have played it on PC already. Thanks!
