Definitely less than 100. I won Beholder 2 the same week that I joined. (17,000 entries, 100 copies. So had 1/170 chance of winning, which is quite good for here.)
On average, people are not that lucky though. Depends on what you enter I guess. If it's lots of high entry giveaways, it's going to be a while.

sad story I still recall
my very first giveaway, it was like a mass 500 copies giveaway of a game that some months later had been abandoned by the developer and is still on the store, but unplayable.. they told everyone they were working on another game and they were abandoning that one..
then I had to wait more =P

Pfft first games I won weren't games I really wanted to play. They were just free games for my library.
Since some day Steamgifts is site where I'm trying to win wishlisted games only. And it means that my chances to win are much lower then possibility to win any unwanted crap. But when I win its a big win! =Ь
