The CD-Key and the Steam key both redeems on Steam. I'm guessing the CD-key is required to play the DRM-free version but they didn't think about the fact that they both work on Steam. (And probably both work for 2 DRM-free installs)

What's the official word on it? I mean, I can't see a sane purpose for it other than give it away to friends or something... Why would they post a completely different CD Key for it?

The intention, I believe, was that one was to be a multiplayer key for the game, while the other just a steam key. However, if they are both steam keys, then the need for a multiplayer key would surely be void. Just a quirk of the system I'm guessing, but I am yet to get the bundle so I can't say for sure.

Well, its like a drm-free/retail version. But the developers converted the keys so they could get redeemed on steam.

Joke's on them. I made sure to use the CD-Key on steam instead of the one labelled Steam Key. Now let's see if they try to revoke it.

If you bought the new Indie Royale, you have 2 steam keys for it. The "CD Key" activates normally on steam.
