I had a CD-ROM (or maybe DVD-ROM, not sure) for this this back in the day and I remember being pretty disappointed in comparing it to Railroad Tycoon 3. I'm curious to see how it's aged.

I had the same experience, as did many others. It's pretty much impossible not to be disappointed if you go into it expecting a sequel to RT3. But it's not a terrible game on its own. I installed it again a few months ago and had a few hours of fun. I'd compare it to The Corporate Machine in terms of being something fairly simple and straightforward but not dull. Whereas RT3 is comparable to Capitalism 2.
