Features:

  • Open Hexagon is easy to learn but extremely hard to master. There are three main actions you can perform: rotate clockwise, rotate counter-clockwise, and swap by 180° degrees.
  • Simplicity and minimalism are key features of Open Hexagon. While certain levels might have special quirks and mechanics, the goal is always the same: survive as long as possible.
  • Headbang your way through polygons by listening to the absolutely amazing chiptune and bitpop tracks by artists such as BOSSFIGHT, Dunderpatrullen, and Fantomenk.
  • Open Hexagon expands on formula by introducing a 180° swap mechanic, curving walls, accelerating walls, scriptable levels and much much more.
  • Open Hexagon was developed with the goal of being open. Players can create their own custom levels by using the simple yet immensely powerful Lua scripting language. The amount of freedom that level designers have is unprecedented: you can keep your custom levels simple, or go wild and implement brand new mechanics.
  • Play the game the way you want to. Speed up or slow down levels. Change the colors and the way the environments are rendered. Open Hexagon gives players the freedom to customize their game just the way they like to.

Thanks to Vittorio Romeo for providing the game keys. You can read my short review of the title here. All who win I also encourage you to write about your experience with the game, and for those who could not receive the game, if it's something you think you might enjoy; wishlist it!

Thanks to everyone involved and enjoy!

I found Super Hexagon when it was first released on the Apple App Store way back in 2012. The upbeat music, simplistic graphics, and intense gameplay were like nothing I had ever played before. After playing for countless hours at a time, I eventually beat all 6 levels, with (I think) about 70 seconds on Hyper Hexagonest, one of the hardest videogame achievements I had pulled off at the time... Even after all that struggle, I still wanted more...

A couple of years later, I remembered the game and decided to see if mods were a thing. A bit of digging later and I found it : Open Hexagon v1.92. It was everything I wanted and more; from new levels, music, and gameplay options. Even the possibility to create and play custom levels was now a feature. I watched as the Open Hexagon community developed and published new, insanely difficult, game changing levels and level packs. Exschwasion. Hexadorsip. Omegasphere. All of these and more were made with obvious effort and care. Not to mention completely free-of-charge...

Although I never achieved amazing scores, or ever tried reaching out to the amazing Open Hexagon Community (curse you young shyness), I still had loads of fun, and made some good memories...

You sure had an adventure with these two titles! What nice memories. I legitimately hope you're able to win a copy! I'd have given you one if I had extra.
