Its a 30 mins long game. But ive heard stories about people who were able to squeeze more than 40 mins out of this one, so i guess its not that short afterall.

Cheers Turtlesaur, have this on my wishlist as I really like the aesthetic.

Wow... 40 minutes? That means I'd probably get an hour and a half out of it ^_^
Some of my game times have been pretty laughable over the years, with my "must check every corner of every area" mentality.... Found some great secrets doing this though over the years, so like... one in every one or two hundred games yields a reward for my diligent searching of everything possible to search.

haha yeah thats what i like to call rpg players syndrome :) I was like that before too, but now whenever im playing a game (regardless of its genre) i actually just follow one path and never look back. But i do have a friend who is pretty much like you so if he gets to a place with 11 doors, and hits right one on first try, hes still going back to the other 10 just to check what might be behind those doors >.<
i wasnt much different either tbh, i used to play rpgs mostly too, so sometimes in games with multiple choices id save-load conversations just to check other possible outcomes :P But after playing mmos for years, i got used to umm... no saving system and it actually feels nice (and somewhat more real too).
i was never much of a scavenger though, even after playing fallouts and fallout like games since early 70's or whatever, i still open like 1 out of 3 containers (:

Yeah... That's me alright, and that is the genre that started my syndrome. There was too much to explore, and I might miss a secret, so it's hard not to check every single spot I can, in case I miss a really powerful item, or encounter a mega-secret of some sort... I've got to examine everything I can, because something important to my inventory could be inside, regardless if I will ever use it or not... I will hardly ever use items as well, because then I will have none or one less in my inventory. It's purely for the sake of hoarding, most of the time, and it's pretty funny to think about... Maybe one day I will get beyond this. Some games that I know don't have anything really to offer ahead of time I can just cruise through without feeling too bad about it. Still, there is a lingering doubt.... What if.....

yeah, i guess mmos were really a godsend to me when it comes to exploring every single option/dialogue/way there is in a game. Now i just stick to whatever i chose first and dont abuse save/load anymore. Im still guilty of hoarding though, but thats what online games want you to do, so they can sell you that precious inventory space so i guess i could blame mmos for that one too :P

Don't forget about point'n'click games! There's a few meta games within those.
"How many unique ways can I kill my character?"
"How many insignificant background objects have unique examine descriptions?"
"Can I do something so unusual/stupid that the game makes a snide remark?"

heh yeah, and not just old adventure games. rpgs were also guilty :P trying to do some very stupid things just to see if it makes npcs react differently >.<

I'm trying to train myself to become more like you lol. I've definitely noticed my need to see every nook and cranny hindering my enjoyment of the game. Would be nice to find a nice balance but it's hard to let go of that compulsion for some reason :S

I have a worse problem, rather than try things myself my last run through of BG2 had me alt-tabbing and doing a google search for damn near everything I encountered.

I have done this for some achievements on certain games if you have to do it in a single playthrough with no way back, for example, so I can definitely relate to that!

yeah actually, thats a real gamebreaker too. It really ruins immersion and kills most of the fun you could have by playing it on your own, but its all out there ... so easily accessible... almost impossible to resist (:
im guilty too but im doing my best trying to break that nasty habit of mine and i use google only as last resort but even that is really just me trying to mask, and give a nice name to cheating :P
10 years ago, last resort was like 1hr of trying to figure it out on my own. Now its 5 mins, tops (:
not to mention how 10ish years ago, id just start a game without knowing too much (if anything) about it. Id make a char and play without having a 2nd thought if maybe i could have made a better char. And it was fun.
Now it takes me more time to actually start the damn game (talking about rpgs here mostly), reading so many guides and stuff like that, so i dont... mess up my char - it got so bad that sometimes i get bored before i actually start playing the game (:
edit: i recently got Arcanum on gog. Its a game i tried to play like 15 years ago but my pc wasnt powerful enough for it (lol), so i spent a couple of hours trying to make my perfect char, and once i actually started playing, i quit 10 mins later and havent tried it ever since. And that was a few weeks ago (:
