Epic giveaway, but I think I might need to just buy the Super Citizen Edition myself, haha. I was hoping Humble would let me use that -20% on "select" new releases on this, but they don't even give you your full choice discount. >_<
Would be slightly cheaper on Fanatical then, and still a better deal than 2% cashback with Rakuten, haha.

Okay, you convinced me, Imma get it from Fanatical. XD

If you haven't bought the Super Citizen Edition yet I got it off Greenmangaming for 20% off. That's assuming you have access to the XP voucher deal but it turns the 17% off into a 20% off. Otherwise yeah... Fanatical is the way to go. Humble sadly puts way too many games on the exempt list for the membership discount these days...

I always forget about those XP things, I definitely could have used that, haha. But yeah, got it at -17% which was fine, I own all the DLC for the first one, so I had to get 2. Though I am a little sad there's no local multiplayer in this, but it makes sense with the perspective change.

It would have only been a little over a dollar difference with the extra 3%. XD No big loss. I actually never played the first one. I just bought this one out of respect for what the CEO said in relation to the server issues the game is having. Would you recommend going back, and getting the first one someday?

Yeah, the first one is quite different, being a top-down shooter. I haven't played it for a while, but I remember it being at least a bit easier to teamkill on accident in it, as you have less aiming freedom, haha. It also has 3 enemy factions instead of just 2, so I think there was a bit more variety there, but it sounded to me like there may very well be more coming in later updates. And unlocking things/progressing I seem to remember being quite a bit different, as some missions would have new weapons, stratagems, upgrades, etc as completion rewards, instead of just needing to grind so much, so that was a bit more exciting, imo.
Not missing too much in terms of story, as it's an "evolving world" that pretty much just changes what enemies are where and whatnot.
But yeah, if you like top-down shooters, and/or have friends who will play it (including locally which was one of my favorite parts), I'd say it's definitely worth a buy, but yeah, most of the DLC isn't really necessary, but there's some that include some fun toys, haha.

Also, I'm hoping some vehicle stratagems will come to 2 soon.

That sounds like I would enjoy it. I like top-down shooters, and I might be able to convince a friend to join me for it. Haha. Oh nice. Hopefully they add more factions to Helldivers 2. Bugs and bots are fun but it would be nice to fight something else eventually. XD I'm definitely going to pick it up sometime then. Thanks for taking the time to tell me about it. :D I appreciate that.

That would be awesome. My only gripe with the game has been my character being out of breath after running for 12 feet so vehicle stratagems would be amazing. XD
