I'll be at MAGFest this weekend, so I'm doing a giveaway because... do I really need a reason?
Rather than posting a 'thank you' comment, tell me one game that you think has a great soundtrack.

Phantasy Star Online had one of the best soundtracks I've ever heard. I wasn't particularly keen on the game itself, but some of the music is positively epic. For instance, its theme tune: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g6Ufyp3F4tU

honestly I usually turn music off with most games - it's a habit I developed when playing Pokemon - I played it so hard on my GBC, that the music still makes me go to sleep :( - in saying that however there's Dogfighter - A pity it was never popular for an on-line game, but the music was awesome!

Is DogFighter's soundtrack available anywhere?

The soundtrack was a mix of classic 80's/90's style metal - Almost like Iron Maiden but never did find out who it actually was.

Ah... So many games with great soundtrack. I'll say Dark Souls, as it's the one I'm listening to right now. :)

Oh nice. I have that one and didn't realize that the soundtrack comes with it until you mentioned it. Thanks!

Wait... The soundtrack COMES with it? Do you have a physical copy of some sort? I have the Prepare to Die Edition on Steam, and I don't have it (apparently).

Oh, no it doesn't. I was mislead by a comment in the Steam forum. :/

I'm quite fond of Homeworld's music.

Have a link to a favorite song?

Well, they used Barber's Adagio for Strings prominently and that was one of the first pieces of classical music that really stuck with me. Here's a clean version and here's the full soundtrack which includes the same piece but with sound effects over it (from the launch of the mothership) which adds a nice nostalgic effect as the original Homeworld was one of my favorite games (not the recent "remastered" version). The Imperial Battle and Turanic Raiders themes are also memorable.
Since much of the collective Homeworld soundtracks are relatively relaxed instrumental and/or choral pieces I find they make nice background music when I'm reading or trying to unwind.

That is relaxing :)

Thank you.
Great Soundtrack? Hm...
Star Control 2. It may seem foolish by today's standarts but it totally fits the atmosphere of sci-fi movies from 50-60s.

Congrats on your win!
I found this so I'm listening now. Good choice.
