Also there is only one answer for me for both questions: Evil Dead. One and two maybe. Great series, legend of class b films. Perfect balance on the edge of humour, absurd and real horror ;).

Have the CD version from a gaming mag and it's one of the very few games, that delivered me nothing but pure joy (was even thinking of rebuying it on Steam). ♥ not entering of course, don't worry :)

As for the movies. Well, I recommend giallo to basically everyone looking for some good horror flicks (mainly because it's a rather obscure genre). My 2 favs being Suspiria and Deep Red.
Recently was also pleasantly surpirised by It Follows. Dunno, but I just have a thing for homages to classic movie genres, like in this case slashers, where only the virgin survives. It's also really nicely shot and does in fact create some good atmosphere without relying on jumpscares.

I don't know the movies, you've listed, but if you're looking for titles that are in the "so bad it hurts" category then I recommend checking out the video-reviews of a guy named The Cinema Snob. You'll surely find something for yourself.

A surprisingly good western-horror is "The Burrowers"

Most movies rely too heavily on the cheap jump scare whereas I would prefer more horror movies with psychological horror. Things that actually terrify you, long after you finish watching the movie.
