Common misconceptions about zombies:

1) Zombies only eat brains. Not true, and they will eat just about any living flesh they can find. But they are not completely without moral guides, since they are not cannibals and zombies never eat other zombies.

2) A shotgun is not the preferred killing tool. It's too fragile, takes too long to reload, and can run out of ammo. Get something durable like a long crowbar. Sure a shotgun can come in handy, but always have a short-range backup.

3) Zombies cannot run. At best, a zombie shuffles at 3 mph, though they can make very short sprints if agitated enough or close to flesh. But as most zombies are rotting corpses which may or may not be missing limbs.

4) Everyone can kill zombies! However survival depends on mental fortitude as much as it depends on physical prowess.
