I gave this one away before during a Steam sale and I'm giving it away again for the same reason. This is an absolutely awesome game and it's currently on sale for the cheapest price ever. Yeah, it's not complete yet, but the devs haven't abandoned it and, frankly, the slow pace of the releases has been adding to my enjoyment of it. It's a slow, meandering trek through one long summer night that seems like it'll never end. Maybe it won't. But that might even be good, y'know?
Take your time with this one, you'll enjoy it a lot more.
And for everyone who enters and doesn't win, go buy this game. Really. It's about half the price I paid for it right now and I don't regret a single cent I paid for it. :-)

Waiting, I can take, if I know the devs are working. I'm still waiting for a Baldur's Gate 2 mod's second half. For close to 13 years now. (Although last time I checked, it reached the pre-beta alpha testing stages. So hope is still there.) I can take waiting for a game.

Oh, but do play them in order. Act 1, Act 2, Limits & Demonstrations, The Entertainment, Act 3, and finally Here and There Along the Echo. By which time, if you're playing it properly, Act 4 should probably be out. (The non-Act bits are on the kentuckyroutezero.com website.)

Eh, it's been only two and a half years. How old is The Journey Down? Five? And the third episode is still in TBA status. And that one is under development too.
Funny how that crowd of that game seems to be somewhat more patient then. :) (At least I don't recall many people voicing their impatience.)

I genuinely hope that the caves near where you live aren't like KY0. :-D Think of this like one of the best Harlan Ellison episodes of the original The Twilight Zone or The Outer Limits. But dialed down from 10 to about a 4 on the intensity scale. It's mind-bending, but not in a strenuous way.

Think of it like the episodic TellTale games. Those come out at five separate times and aren't considered early access.

Exactly what I was thinking. The first three acts and the additional content are complete and playable and subsequent updates don't change the way the previous episodes play, just the ones going forward. To be fair, the Telltale (and other episodic games) tend to come out with the expectation that the next episodes will be along "soon" but there's rarely any guarantee that we'll actually see the end of the episodic story arc (HL2E3 cough). So the deal with KY0 is the developer continues to support it (they helped me out with a corrupt save file not long ago) and they insist they are still developing it. Be prepared you may not see the end of the story, but that's the way with lots of stories. All kinds of movie / television / book / comics / etc. series end before their time, they're still perfectly enjoyable while they last.
