Crazy thing is this was going to be a My Little Pony fan game, but Hasbro got mad and DMCA'd the devs, so the creator of the show created brand new characters for free for the devs so they can keep working on it.
Just a random fact I know about this game. Thanks for the chance!

I could understand why Hasbro would not be too keen on this being a MLP fangame.. It's quite brutal :P Awesome of miss Faust to create new characters for this game though! That way it keeps the MLP-look while being something totally unique~!
