Thank you for the chance! hmm good question..
Musical movie has to be Moulin Rouge or the Greatest Showman.
Musical Plays: Hamilton and Hadestown.
Musical tv Shows: Crazy Ex Gilrfriend, Galavant

Crazy Ex Girlfriend was a great show! I didn't expect such an unsual piece of storytelling to exist, but I'm glad that it does.

Musicals are actually my favorite movie genre!
It's hard to choose only one, but I'll go with Dancer in the Dark

Oh, loved the Queen Musical

I don't like them usually, but I love the phantom of the opera.

I'm unfortunately not very well-wersed in musicals, which is a shame because I'd like to be...
The last one I loved was "tick... tick... BOOM!" (the movie version). Hoping to see it again as a play soon.

If you would like to see more from Jonathan Larson, I recommend watching Rent (you can see a 2008 Broadway version on youtube). It's a little outdated now, but still good.
Or if you want to see more from Lin Manuel (the director of the Tick... tick... BOOM! movie) I highly recommend Hamilton or In the Heights!

Rent is what I've been thinking of watching next. I think I spotted the Broadway recording somewhere already. Am I right in thinking the popular opinion is that the movie version is worse?
Also, this was a fun way to learn that In the Heights had been performed two years ago at a theater right near where I live. Proving my point exactly! haha Oh well, I guess I'll watch the movie version someday as well.
Thank you for the recommendations! <3

Yeah the movie version does have most of the original broadway cast in it, but it wasn't very good. if you plan on watching the movie anyway, I'd recommend doing it first. It's not so bad if you don't compare it to the play the whole time lol
. If you don't mind documentaries, I also recommend "No Day But Today: The Story of 'Rent." It's about the creation of rent and Jonathan Larson's life/death. It makes both Rent and Tik Tik Boom even better.
Oh man that has happened to me. I know the struggle 😂 The movie is still good though.

Rent: The Movie it is, then lol. Now to see if there's anywhere I can stream it legally!
Oh, absolutely! I'll add it to my watchlist as well.
Now I'm thinking, since I don't learn about these things through osmosis (like seeing posters), I think I'll have to start watching websites for certain theaters like a hawk not to miss anything cool from now on xD

Oh!
I loved Mama mia and sister act saw both in theatre. As for musical movie I don't think I've seen an awful lot and this mind be controversial cause the movie is not that well loved but I liked Into the woods for all it silliness. Wish someone would localize it for theatre here again.

I can't stand musicals. I love music, but not musicals. There are some songs from musicals that I like, but I like them as seperate music, not attached to a musical. Watching an interesting story and having someone suddenly burst into song just absolutely ruins it for me. It takes me out of the experience. The only thing that I consider a musical that I have liked is The Nightmare Before Christmas. For some reason, in that movie the songs just fit, they made sense. Anything else, no.

I generally dislike musicals. The only two, that I like, are Hair and Cabaret, and even those 2 I prefer in movie versions.. Cheers :)
