Thanks for stopping by! This is not just a giveaway but a shameless attempt to draw eyes to my topic over in discussions. Clicky for Topic If you want a challenge see if you can figure our what's wrong...here's a preview: At one point Firefox and Libreoffice were crashing any time I'd paste text...seriously...ctrl v CRASH
Yep, totally true story. So if you have any ideas come on over. If not...good luck winning whatever game it was that I have here! (don't want to scroll up to see the game, this darn thing might crash again!)
And in a couple days I'll most likely be back with another giveaway drawing eyes to a topic discussing what parts to buy for my new PC :(
Oh, wait...that's a sad note to end on...ummm...Merry Christmas? Wait, no...it IS happy! Either my PC is fixed (YAY!) or I replace this PC I've had since 2009 (YAY TOO!)
Edit: Problem turned out to be both PSU and motherboard, so now I'm building a new PC here!

It's cool, just you wanting to help is a help. I mean, not a help with the PC, this things still a mess, but you know...emotionally :D

Well, did you try refreshing firefox? Warning, you might need to set up some things again after that. Also, is it up to date? :(
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/refresh-firefox-reset-add-ons-and-settings
By the crash, you mean one program, or whole OS? If you think it's ram issue, how long did you try running memtest? 1 pass? 10 passes? More? By the way, did you grounded yourself before swapping parts? :( Sorry if the question sound basic, when I worked in support usually the answer was in very simple, overlooked initial question.

I understand, I know a lot about computers but sometimes no matter how much knowledge you have you might completely miss something basic (like forgetting to flip the switch on the PSU, yep I did that once...took a PC apart a few times trying to get it to start one bit at a time. and yep, I felt dumb).
First I refreshed Firefox, then uninstalled and reinstalled. After that other programs started crashing. I switched over to a different hard drive with a different OS and had the same problem. Ran memtest for 5 passes and no errors. I always ground myself (Dad's an electrician so I'm always expecting the worst :D
I figured out the problem I guess. I dug out an old PC and stuck my PSU in it, wouldn't last five or 10 minutes without blue screens. Then I stuck the PSU from the old PC in this one, same thing with blue screens. But with the PSU back in here no blue screens. Just Firefox crashing out and Chrome tabs crashing. It's odd but I guess the PSU and mobo decided to both go bad at the same time. Ah well, looks like it's time to build a new PC, so I created a build a PC topic here!

Ah. Well, sorry I couldn't help then? :(
Yeah, random PC parts failures are the worst, especially ones you can't see on visual inspection. Hopefully the new ones work well? Also, happy new year?

Any suggestion is always a good suggestion :D
New ones will work great, as soon as I get them! Happy New Year to you too!
