The Magic Circle is a great indie about... game development. You play as a rogue QA Tester and I thought the humour was spot-on.

I have to go with The Yawg, not a very big game and hard to get all the possible endings due to rng, but I enjoyed the writing in it a lot.

I was really amazed by Cupid. It's a visual novel, and an indie one at that, so no wonder it doesn't get that much attention; however, I liked it a lot more than I liked some big ones. It has a great story and brings some freshness into the oh-so-cute-and-so-very-japanese-style genre; it's mature, dark, and just... different in many, many aspects. Give it a try, even if you're not a visual novel fan; it's free!
