I'm new to [actually participating in] the site, but I've thought about this before - why doesn't the site create fake gibs to catch auto-joiners? I guess it's probably easier/better to use a captcha, but that seems slightly less fun.
Yeah, it would just be an arms race. I could create fake giveaways, but then they could just blacklist me to avoid it. If the site did it (i.e. mods), they'd have to manually tweak it to stay ahead of the bots. A periodic captcha would be more effective (but, as mentioned, perhaps less fun).

I don't know how this script works, but if you analyze how it works you can choose users which are suspected.
Report to support and job is done :) Support has got more tools to check this info than you have :D

After all, this is not really a social platform like Facebook etc. So enforcing to spend lot of time here is in my point of view not that important anyway. I did not visit Your steam profile and I did not wonder about Your 93% completition rate.
Afterwards I did not enter Your name on astats and astats did not tell me:
"Suspected of using an achievement hack."
Never really hid that I unlocked all achievements in Frankenstein: Master of Death and in Melissa K that were broken for Steam but worked in game. (This is why I still miss the last one in Melissa, that stupid final puzzle on Expert is impossible in the required time limit).
I also unlocked the achievements in New Vegas Steam did not pop because the game is buggy and because opening the console disables achievements; it was before the community made the injection script that disabled this feature, finally.
I can't find the link with the time I put in, and it's not worth any more of my time. Because it's time to go crazy! my banana slippers are like water boats because when the moon winks sometimes it burns my hamster punches…
