Happy Halloween once again, SteamGifts!
Home Safety Helpline is proper spooky Halloween fun. Imagine you're manning the SCP help hotline, and it's your job to put distressed callers on hold, browse your bestiary for something that sounds like it matches their problem and then send them a little info packet on how to appease the monster living in their walls. There are some distressing entries in said bestiary, especially if you're sensitive to child or pet death, but I'm an outright horror wimp and greatly enjoyed myself, so don't be afraid to enter if you think the concept's interesting!
Thank yous are always welcome, but if you'd like to answer a question instead: what used to be some of your favourite kinds of candy to get while trick-or-treating?

You know, I almost put a second part to the question saying to just state your favourite candy if you didn't celebrate Halloween where you live, but I figured people would do that anyways!

Reese’s cups

Question, since you've played before: Does it have jumpscares?
I used to love candy corn when I could actually buy it, even if we didnt trick and treat. Hard to find in europe :(

No jumpscares at all! But it has a very creepy atmosphere >:)

Thankies for the answer, hope I get it then!

As Lironezzz said, no jumpscares! Occasionally the static of the screen flickers and you get a brief glimpse of something facelike, but nothing's going to scream at you.

Perfect, thankies!!

Thanks for asking this question - entering it too thanks to the answer!
There really should be a high-level mandatory Steam tag for games to get declared as having jumpscares, for those of us who don't mind horrorish games but don't appreciate the subset of jumpscares :)

I live in a country where we don't really trick or treat but my favorite candybar is Milky Way (dunno if it's an odd choice, I just love the airiness of it) and just plain gummies (especially Haribo bears).

Thanks! In my country we had a chocolate bar with strawberry and milk cream called Kiss that i loved. Another one of my favorites were Kinder Surprise eggs, but mostly for the toys inside.

Also from a country where Halloween is almost nonexistent, so I wouldn't be able to tell you what kind of candy I even got if I tried...
That being said, I'd love to try candy corn, but it's not available over here :(

Trick-or-treating has never really been a thing in Australia until very recently. So not something I've had anything to do with.
Snickers is always good though.

Reading the answer it seems like country doing the trick-or-treating are probably the minority rather than the majority. It's funny it's such a big event here that Halloween to me is always been synonymous with trick or treating, and I never even thought about the fact that other people around the world don't do it at all.
I don't eat that much candy anymore, but I used to really like the peach ring gummies.

I love gummy sweets. The green turtles with soft foam bellies were my #1 as a kid

Thanks for introducing this interesting-looking game! I do like these kinds of interactive simulations. Will be on the lookout for it in future even if I don't win it here.
No trick or treatin' over here, and I'm more a potato chips than candy person, but snickers would probably be my go-to type of candy.
