Hey to be more specific several years ago i had this OCD about broken achievements that's why i used SAM to unlock some achievements but i didn't know about the site astats that keeps tracking of it and thus i was marked a cheater there.
They are very strict and very hard to get that mark removed, nor did i know what games i had to lock back (with back then 5000 games that proved hard) so why i just locked back all my achievements that was possible (even many ones i just gotten legit).
While unlocking is not done, according to astats, locking them back they absolutely have no problem with if you want to redo a game again achievement wise.

I never used SAM and I don't care much for achievements. I was just surprised that it is possible to remove them. In my imagination for gaining them you can fake or copy whatever a game sends to steam to unlock the achievement but to remove it I thought you have to hack some steam databases.

As long you are not online you can even "safely" use it on online games like Team Fortress 2, you won't get banned over it.
