Description

Here is a really good one, guys
For any horror movie aficionado, this game is fucking sweet
It is definitely one of the best game that i played last year. From the graphics, to the music, to the gameplay, multiple endings, easter eggs, cameos.... I am eagerly waiting for the announcement of the new title from this dev (a one man gig)

By the way, what is your favorite horror movie? do you prefer the classics, the old ones, or the new torture stuff from the last decade?
good luck!!

thanks ♥

While I don't mind gore, I really am not fond of the slasher genre and I loathe the "torture porn" genre. I tend to prefer supernatural or scifi horror, even though most of it is a bit too cliche I enjoy those tropes enough that it doesn't bother me as long as it's decently executed. Thrillers and psychological horror can be great. Body horror, too. Anything that messes with your head in some way. My favorite is probably The Thing, which combines elements of everything I just mentioned. It's just loaded with paranoia, tension, a bit of mystery. And the core concept of the body-invading alien is pure body horror, which they show off visually with those awesome old-school practical effects.

The thing is amazing. That scene where the stomach opens like a mouth totally caught me off-guard.
My favorite is The Night of the Living Dead. I know it sounds cliche, but the movie, after all these years, is still current as fuck. How they interact with each other in a difficult situation, the conflicts and all.
This game has different episodes, and it goes from Halloween, to Texas Chainsaw Massacre, to Alien... it is a really cool game, IMO.
take care

Alien is another amazing one, yeah. I enjoyed Texas Chainsaw Massacre for what it was, more than I was expecting to. Believe it or not, I still haven't seen the original Halloween! Just bits and pieces of sequels over the years. I suppose I should give it a go, like I did for TCM. My problem with slashers is mostly with the protagonists irritating the hell out of me. "Oh, here's the scene where they split up. That always works out well. And here we have the couple getting frisky. Of course, they must be punished for this." And so on and so on. The bad guys themselves can be pretty cool, at times. I've often considered trying to work a slasher-type villain into a tabletop game (I'm a big fan of World of Darkness, though rarely get to play it).

I think the best thing about the first Halloween is the sound department and music. There is a scene were they face the killer in plain sunlight, and it is still creepy as fuck thanks to the silence, and the piano they use. It is used in this game the same way. But ofc, I agree: Halloween has all the cliches on deck, and in a way it is the origin of the teenagers getting killed 'subgenre'. Still great movies to watch today, as they are full of charm. the alien chapter on LVC: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Ky5v4a3iNY (forget about the stupid intro)
cheers, mate

I don't like the torture stuff either, but Martyrs is really a whole another level... that ending, and how it appears it is just a slasher/action film, and then the shit hits the fan. It is such a different movie.
I have not watched Babadook; i will check out that one.
As I said to the other guy, check out this game if you like Alien, halloween or Texas Chainsaw Massacre... it is an amazing homage to the 70-80s horror era.
cheers
