And yes... if you will check it before sending the key to the winner it will defend em from some mistakes.

In order to clarify this issue, you have not done anything wrong. The API have a glitch/bug that allows people who already have the game to enter the giveaways of already owned games. Just keep an eye on the winners and you will be fine. Good luck!!
