Still, I believe saying thank you is a fundamental pillar of life. We can never repay what was given to us fully, and so a thank you is a way to realize this and also enjoy the fact that nevertheless - someone has given us sometihng with no intention of getting anything back.
That realization fills most poeple with happiness and confidence about the world around them.
