Dinosaurs never existed. Satan put that bones in the ground to make people question gods world creation and lose their faith this way.

But seriously, dragons are the one mythological creature that seems to be present in most cultures. I'd have to imagine that the idea came from ancient humans finding dinosaur bones.

Dinosaurs understood that us finding just their flesh will serve no purpose so they left their skeletons instead and ate each other in the process.
